Hwy 85 - Krystal in Fayetteville, Monday about noon-ish

Maybe I missed a news story - does anyone know why all the police were in Krystal parking lot, with what appeared to be 3 suspects, one on the ground, two in cuffs, was all about?

With the opening of a KFC at 314/Banks Rd, Popeyes in front of Kroger, Zaxby's and Mrs. Winner's, that makes 4 chicken shacks in Fayetteville within a 1 mile stretch.

Norwester,

other folks have digressed to a discussion about the Popeyes going up where the KFC used to be. But I don't understand your post. Do you mean that there will be "more of the same" crime that was the subject of the blog post because of the "4 chicken shacks"? Or do you mean that there will be more fast food places because of the "4 chicken shacks"? Specifically, we should anticipate more of the same what? Please clarify.

Can't we also have a Church's chicken place on the block? (Or do they still exist?)

Apparently the marketing moguls have our area pegged for such things. We can't get a Whole Foods or a Fresh Market. But if you want fried chicken--or a pair of shoes--come to Fayetteville!

to get a Whole Foods? How 'bout we contact their Corporate Offices? I'm sure Newnan, PTC, AND Fayetteville would support it.

I'm with you for whatever scheme you can come up with.

There was a Harry's in a Hurry at the Avenue a few years ago, but they bugged out.

Do people in this area generally not like healthful foods? It's odd to me that the parking lot at a Whole Foods tends to have Hondas with Yakima racks on top and anti-Bush stickers on the bumpers, and a Southern Baptist/Republican dominated area like this has an overabundance of fried food places.

It's the difference between readers of OUTSIDE magazine and those who read OUTDOOR LIFE. Microbrews versus Bud Light. The hiker/kayak crowd versus the hook-and-bullet bunch. REI versus Bass World. Sailboats versus jet skis. Bicycles versus golf carts. Eye-wink

Fresh Market is in Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina (among other places). Are there any in Georgia? They're good, too.

I sent an e-mail to Whole Foods and they responded that they are not expanding in this area at this time. However, if they get a bunch of e-mails from this area, they might get the hint that there's gold in them thar hills. Laughing out loud

If they're going to put in a new chicken shack, I do wish it was Church's. They're really the only fast-food fried chicken I like. The honey biscuits are great.

I think Popeye's is also owned by Church's. They're okay.

Wouldn't it be great if Fayette got a Whole Foods? I love their ciabatta bread! I doubt it will ever happen, though.

Does anyone still eat at Mrs. Winners? And if so, WHY? We stopped eating there years ago, it was so nasty inside. Now the outside looks just as bad, if not worse.

Mrs. Winners is one of the greasiest, smelliest places I've seen. The last time we actually went in was probably 1998 or 99. You can sit in the parking lot, though, and watch patrons slide in and out on the grease.

We also stopped eating at Mrs. Winners and KFC years ago. Both were ok in the beginning.

Are they really building a new KFC? It will not stay open long if it's like the other one.

We're looking forward to Popeye's! They have really good chicken, biscuits, shrimp etc.! When does it open in Fayetteville? Does anyone know?

I thought you learned your lesson months ago. It's been that long since we have heard from you. At least change your "blog" name so we can recognize you by your silly postings and not by just seeing your name and KNOWING it's going to be foolish.

You got spanked the last time you shot your mouth off here.

it ain't nosy, it's called being informed. We all should be wondering what's going on in our area. I wonder how many crimes have been thwarted because someone was being "nosy" and reported it. It is a worthwhile thing to know if these guys were a traffic violation or, gee, a drug bust, hard-core criminals.

Do you know what's being built at the corner of Hwy 314 & Banks Rd?

The new Popeye's is going to be on Crosstown in PTC where the old KFC was. They are renovating it now.

Nothing has been posted on their opening, but the renovation seems to be moving along quickly.
