Two local football teams survive first roundSun, 11/19/2006 - 8:49am

There were four Fayette area teams in the state playoffs this year and two survived the first round. Starr's Mill and Landmark Christian both won their first round games, while Whitewater and Sandy Creek were eliminated. The Panthers defeated Ware County 37-6, while the War Eagles edged out Social Circle 56-49. Whitewater was defeated by Brunswick 23-20 and Flowery Branch beat Sandy Creek 45-14. Starr's Mill (8-3) will play at Baldwin (10-1) on Friday. Baldwin defeated Americus-Sumter 49-7 in the opening round. Landmark Christian (9-2) will host Warren County (7-4). Warren County beat Bowdon 56-24 on Friday. login to post comments |
