Brunswick stuns Whitewater in final seconds

By: John Munford

Whitewater High School maintained its lead until the final minutes of the school's first-ever playoff game Friday night.

With the game tied at 20 and just over three minutes left, the Whitewater offense sputtered. Brunswick responded, capping its winning drive with a chip-shot field goal, leaving just 13 seconds left on the clock.

The Wildcats didn't give up and with four seconds left took one last shot with a hail mary pass from midfield. It had the distance but didn't connect, ending the school's playoff bid.

Home teams Campbell, Etowah, Creekside and Pebblebrook are all playing at neutral sites due to the GHSA 6,000-seat minimum capacity rule.

Campbell will face Peachtree Ridge at McEachern.
Pebblebrook plays St. Pius at Harrison.
Creekside faces Griffin at Northgate.

On Saturday, Etowah will play host to North Gwinnett at McEachern.

Bloggers,
Dot you all think this has gone to far already?
Let the high school games be decided on the field, the gym or wherever. We talk about how bad the “trash talking” has been but as adults we have not let up. A fine example we are setting to the kids that read this! Have you seen the videos of parents fighting at Pee Wee games? That’s what this remind s me of.

The county school relationships are not as a few bloggers paint it; trash talking and taunting is part of the sport scene in school. Don’t accuse the Wildcats of taunting, every team we have played has done just as much or more, but we don’t complain about it. We have let every team congregate on our field this year after games, we were not allowed to do so until our game against Northgate! Woodward players were doing back flips on our logo at midfield, no one complained. Northgate, Woodward and Sandy Creek players (and some coaches) cussed our kids out when they were knocked out of bounds on their sidelines, no one complained.

This continued assault benefits no one, you should not judge us all for what a small group of people enjoy doing. I will not have anything to do with the T-shirt bunch or others. I prohibited my two kids from purchasing these and was quite embarrassed when I saw them. I have run into this same type of parents at SM, Fayette and Sandy Creek, but it does not bother me because I know they don’t represent the majority.

Let’s congratulate those who moved to the next round and those that fought well to get there bit did not advance. It’d the right thing to do. Starr’s Mill and Sandy Creek have great post season history, we are not there yet but plan to do so in the near future. I think in four years we have accomplished quite a bit, but have much to do.

From a proud Whitewater football parent.

P.S. myword_mark, I hope you can come around one day and maybe we can sit in stands and enjoy a game together, that’s what its all about!

Reply Brunswick / Whippedwater check out this link to a local paper for whitewater (i mean whippedwater) high school. look on the left for the pics of our game. go to the last pic. that is me laughing on the left.

www.thecitizen.com/taxonomy/term/7

i am still laughing at what we did to you on your home field in your first ever playoff game!
i appreciate all the taunting and arrogance that the whitewater fans showed last friday because it gave our boys a reason to whip up on the whippedwater wildcats!!!

This reputation is embarassing. The parents from Brunswick are complaining that they were treated rudely and the players are disgusted that the WHS players would not shake their hands.

I hope in the future we can treat visitors better than this in our county.

The game is almost a week old and you keep bringing this up, what is your point?
Do you actually believe what you read in those blogs?
As I have stated before, I am a WHS football parent, and proud of it. Trash talking among players is part of the game, EVERYONE does it, regardless of the school.
Parents treated rudely? I was there, no such thing happened.

Believe who you want; what is the point of the continuous bashing of WHS? You criticize WHS fans for arrogance and rudeness; does what you and other bloggers post slamming WHS make it right?

Indeed, there are some at WHS that should learn some humility, but not all.
If some healing, learning and humility is to take place, we need to get past the WHS bashing! Believe me, I’m doing my best to do away with some of these stupid slogans at the school, but I’m only one voice.

We need to focus on SM and their big game on Friday, and wish them all the luck! I’m pulling for OUR team; basketball season has started as well, lets go catch some round ball games, FCHS looks like a tough team this year again.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!

glad to see that you did not participate in the Tshirt buying. I commend you for that. Feel free to come sit with us this friday night in Milledgeville. We will need all the support from Fayette Countians that we can get. Baldwin is a great team and our boy's will be fortunate to hang with them.

that are about beating Starr's Mill..... isn't that a little weird? A friend of mine said they painted that they are the "only real cats in town" on the gym wall. I like whs - they have a new school but why do they feel they need to insult others and be mean to feel good?

I agree with hammer about the tee shirts but I aslo see why people are upset. maybe they will stop bragging and taunting and we can get along like we used to before the tee shirts.

You (myword mark) need to get a life and quit living through high school gossip and such. I feel that the majority of the "crap" that you are slinging is slanderous and holds no truth what so ever. WW administration, children and parents know that they cannot demand respect, rather they must earn it by continuing to win, in every sport. You, as many of Starr's Mill "people", refuse to give any credit to WW, win or lose. Starr's Mill lost to WW. 15-14. GET OVER IT, ALREADY. It was Starr's Mill that vandalized the road in front of WW. WW people did not pitch a fit, it was cleaned up, and they worried about the next game. It was Starr's Mill that blamed the officiating crew. Wait, again what was Starr's Mill region record? Or do you not even know, were you at the WW games, and not your games when they lost??? WW wasn't the only team to beat Starr's Mill, why are they the only ones you are bashing? You claim to know so much about WW...however do you find the time to keep up your Star's Mill shrine? By the way, I'm sure the students at the Mill would find that creepy. GET A LIFE. You are giving the Mill a bad name. Worship them, who cares...but your obsession with WW is getting old. Move on.

The problems at WHS are not with the kids - it's the 'Tee shirt' parent crowd and the parents that think it's 'cute' to make fun of other schools.

I agree with you on this one!

Submitted by myword_mark on Mon, 11/20/2006 - 4:42pm.

You say that: "Starr's Mill lost to WW. 15-14. GET OVER IT, ALREADY. It was Starr's Mill that vandalized the road in front of WW. WW people did not pitch a fit, it was cleaned up, and they worried about the next game. It was Starr's Mill that blamed the officiating crew. Wait, again what was Starr's Mill region record?"

Are you trying to trash talk?? What a joke - let's address those rants of yours one at a time:

"Starr's Mill lost to WW. 15-14. GET OVER IT, ALREADY."

Starr's Mill lost to Whitewater - so what?? I feel sure the starr's Mill players and fans are- they don't have tee shirts do they?? They have beaten the next four teams since they have gotten healthy, including a region champion. Seems they are over it to me - Since that is NOT the subject YOU yet again show YOU are fiixated on ONE game.

"It was Starr's Mill that vandalized the road in front of WW."

The sherrif's department reported that temporary field (you know - grass paint) paint was used on the road and rain would have washed it off. The sheriff's report for the vandalism at Starr's mill, on at least two occassions, was caused by permanant spray paint on a wooden building that must be repainted (and also sexual graphics painted on the rocks was in 'regular' paint as well). Humm... as far as not complaining goes - the Principal complained - YOU are complaining now- the sherriff was called - so who is NOT complaining?

"It was Starr's Mill that blamed the officiating crew?"

Really? I read where the officials came to Starr's Mill (note correct spelling) after they reviewed the game and apologized on behalf of a temporary official that made several bad calls. regardless, Whitewater won and I didn't hear any complaints, see any gym slogans, see any tee shirts, or hear about any screen savers from Starr's Mill about it.

As for "what was Starr's Mill's region record: Starr's Mill had a 7-3 region record. When healthy the romped a Woodward team that beat Whitewater at home. Considering they had two 1000 yard rushers out for four games - that's a pretty good record. It gauranteed them a playoff spot and they have now made it to the final 16 (sweet sixteen) where you have NEVER been.

It's certainly better than our 0-10 record. When SMHS played us, unlike you, they were kind, polite, showed class and played a lot of second team players and then held off on some scores at the end of the game.

A couple of their students rushed the field and were repremanded by the coaches and administrators on the spot. If you want to talk about any records you need to talk titles. You don't have any and if you want to see football Friday night you are going to have to watch someone else...so save the bragging - that is why you are so hated Eye-wink

As usual, you are talking about a loss that Starr's Mill had to whitewater? Why don't you want to talk about the subject - ??? Do you have a mental block? Bloggers all over the state have complained about your school's poor sportsmanship and it is an issue that every other school has picked up on.

I will pull for and defend Starr's Mill, just as I do McIntosh, because they are friends of ours and show good sportsmanship. You are NOT the Only REAL cats in town, your are NOT the kings of the county and you have never won a single title - so get some humility and shut up. As for Fayette County High School, I will continue to support them just as we do Sandy Creek and Starr's Mill.

Let's face facts- WHS had four years to be ready for one game - their first ever playoff game - and unlike most schools they waited as long as hey could before playing a full region schedule.... after four years of trash talk and claims of supremecy they lost the ONE game they had four years to prepare for.

As for me - I'll try to get some tickets for the playoffs and keep hoping someone with a little class will win. SMHS has represented our county with pride and good sportsmanship inthe past and I feel sure willdo it again this year.

Go Chiefs - Go Panthers!

Submitted by beauvighn on Mon, 11/20/2006 - 2:57pm.

No other team that beat Starrs Mill thought it was important to get Tshirts made up. When SM beat fayette and Sany Creek years ago for the first time I don't remember seeing any Tshirts proclaiming the victories. The kids shook hands and that was it. WW seems to want to hang on to this victory over SM forever. Let it go... It cost you the game against WA and probably against Brunswick. WW would be happy to go 1-9 every year if that one was SM. That is because they have modeled their program after SM's. Maybe they need to see where they are in 10 years. If they can match SM production of playoff appearances and Dome games, semi-finals, quarter finals etc. then get you a Tshirt that says whatever. It sounds like WW is the middle child of 3... the one starving for attention. Talk to me in 10 years and let's see what their record is.

Submitted by FCsports on Mon, 11/20/2006 - 8:50am.

I must have missed something...having not followed Stars Mill all season, as apparently some of you have. What was their region record again...because some of you speak of them like they are the only ones in Fayette County who ever played football before. You apparently forget that Star's Mill boys grew up playing football with Whitewater boys. If there was no "new school", they would mostly be going there. While all of you "adults" are so insulted by the t-shirts and the taunting...the kids are not. They grew up together. Their taunting is just "bragging rights". Get over yourselves, this is going to be a long running rivalry, and much like the Georgia/Georgia Tech rivalry...one team will win one year and the other will win the next. Everyone prefers one over the other (usually only because they have someone they know and love on one team). But that is no reason to act like this. I think you "adults" need to act like "adults" and leave the bragging rights to the kids. Your high school days are over, you need to let them have theirs and stay out of it.

Submitted by myword_mark on Mon, 11/20/2006 - 11:30am.

First of all - it's STARR'S mill not stars mill - so you are wrong from the very begining.

Secondly, the players were very offended. Sandy Creek, Starr's Mill, and Brunswick called them the rudest most arrogant people they have played to date - Creeksid and Westlake called them cheats and 'rudenecks' - so they say, were the students.

This is not Georgia /Georgia Tech - are you mental? These are formative aged kids (14-18), who have NO CHOICE where they attend school and should be taught by adults how to compete, win, and lose with pride and dignity. THEY ARE NOT BEING TAUGHT THIS.

Until the ADULT redneck revolution known as the "Widcats" proclaimed to be the "ONLY REAL CAT" in town, all was fine. Fat moms wering the taunting tee's were overlooked as redneck ignorant. Even then most turned a blind eye to the ignorance.

Then came the out of district players, the GHSA filming violations, the attempt to recruit McIntosh and Starr's Mill players, the insults, the taunting of Sandy Creek, the gang fighting, the guns, the low scores, the copying the bell at the Mill, taunting and laughing at FCHS and McIntosh claling them 'insignificant' and 'cake walks', The Tee shirts (several), the vandalism and the screensavers ALL, I am sad to say, supported by the adults, parents, teachers (special ed. even) and administrators - and now, oh how sweet, now, they have been shown to be the pretenders that they are.

Brunswick said that was the rudest bunch they have ever played - that the fans were rude and most would not speak, and less than half the players shook hands. Pittiful....almost as pittiful as your defense of them. Is this what they teach at WHS? Is this the reputation you want in this county?

The kids that I know from Sandy Creek and Starr's Mill find the behavior of the "only real copycats in town" to be as offensive as the responsible adults should. You obviously do not fit in to that catagory.

Submitted by myword_mark on Sun, 11/19/2006 - 12:28pm.

Since the only kittys in town are complaining about your write up, you may actually want to write a little something on the public school teams that have actually accomplished something in Fayette County.

Seems like I recall Starr's Mill and Sandy Creek, played Friday night too, didn't they?

This is the kind of bad press and smack talk Whitewater has had to endure their entire season...when they win, they are cheaters and when they lose, they deserved to lose. Doesn't anyone realize how hard these KIDS work? Doesn't anyone care that this was their first region schedule and their first charter senior class graduates in the spring? Hey, I know there is smack talk in every game, at every game but why does Whitewater have to bear the brunt of adults saying stuff like that. They lost but to their parents, teachers, administration, their classmates and true friends, THEY WILL ALWAYS BE WINNERS.

GO CATS!!!

"This is the kind of bad press and smack talk Whitewater has had to endure their entire season..."

"the only REAL cats in town", "Priceless tee shirts", Priceless screen savers, "Kings of the county" (even after the smalles school in the county beat you.)

"Doesn't anyone realize how hard these KIDS work?"

Don't you think the other kids work just as hard or harder? Apparently not. If you did, you wouldn't be so 'classless' with your hurtful shirts and comments.

"Doesn't anyone care that this was their first region schedule..."
This is precisely why you need to be humble!

"why does Whitewater have to bear the brunt of adults saying stuff like that."

Please refer back the the T shirts, screensavers, vandalism, gym wall, comments from your first egocentrist rhetorical question (above).

You are the largest school in the county - learn some humility - all of the kids in the county work hard and they deserve better parent examples - you are a bragadocious winner and a sore loser - both make you a poor sport.

Listen to yourself. This is a high school football game. You're past high school, so grow up! "Spoken like a true Whitewater High School loser, classless, base, crass, and vile." Are these the words of an adult? This is the kind of mindless hate that is fueling the wars in the Middle East. There's no place for that kind of language when you are talking about your neighbors, and especially not over high school sports. Maybe you don't know this, but many of the faculty and students of Whitewater are long-term personal friends with faculty and students at Starrs Mill. The game itself was conducted in an atmosphere of good sportsmanship on both sides, tee-shirts notwithstanding. Why can't you act in a similar manner. You have issues that go way beyond any football hype or slogan. Get over it!!

Starrs Mill won their playoff game, Whitewater lost theirs. Congratulations to the Starrs Mill team, and good luck in the rest of the playoffs!

Submitted by myword_mark on Sun, 11/19/2006 - 5:52pm.

You take it upon yourself to lecture me - and this is what you say about the T shirts "tee-shirts notwithstanding" - Great - very objective - you completely discount there comments and actions and say something to a Cheifs fan who calls them and you on your behavior - No comment on their behavior, no comment on the Gym wall, the screensavers etc. Yea, you are real unbiased there alan..... and you are a whitewater fan too - it shows.

By the way, if you think that classless, base, crass, and vile are inappropriate language you need to talk to your other WHS fans that make referance to masturbation and invest in a dictionary.

In other words- I think you are a hypocrite!Eye-wink

No, I'm just an adult who doesn't take high school football that seriously. I don't understand why you are taking the rivalry so personally. The T-shirts were not that bad, and the "only cats in town" was just the usual hype.

I'm not clear if you are a Starrs Mill fan or McIntosh, but either way, we are all neighbors, and you seem to have lost sight of that.

Submitted by myword_mark on Sun, 11/19/2006 - 9:32pm.

Moe of the same from you - "The T-shirts were not that bad, and the "only cats in town" was just the usual hype."

Seems your selective indignation doesn't change from blog to blog. Just so you will know, it's not the only cat in town..... it's "The only REAL cat in town". I personally cou;dn't care less what you think - Maybe you will get a little insight from a few statewide blogs about Whitewater - If you guys don't get a clue you will be the most hated school in the state. Your arrogance is the issue here - The shirts, the screensaver, refusing to shake hands, trash talking, your attitude, your poor sportsmanship, and most of all - your refusal to accept the truth about it all.

These comments are from the Georgia Vent about your school:

Oh we better not get any excuses, We had well over 100,150 probly close to 200 yards worth of penalties and that's not a joke, and to go along with that anywhere from 3-4 turnovers. They had their opportunity our offense turned it over on like the 25 yard line and we made them lose about 10-15 more yards and all they could get was a field goal most of their points were scored by their defense, not stout but pretty good. It pretty much came down to who wanted it mroe. and Obviously the BRUNSWICK HIGH PIRATES wanted it. man that charter bus was nice too. next week is when it gets tough. real tough but dont count us out yet.

I've only lived in this area for a short time, and I REALLY DON'T get attached to one or another high school football team like you apparently do. The last time I got all choked up about losing a football game was when I was on the team and it was my senior year in high school. That was a LONG time ago, and it wasn't in Fayette county. So don't keep on with "you guys" like I'm some life-long enemy of yours.

On second thought, I've always hated loud-mouthed jerks, so I guess I am a life-long enemy of yours.

I just think it's a crying shame to get so negative and childish about the whole thing as adults. I had nothing to do with the T-shirts, or slogans, or any of that, and I don't like being lumped in with all this name-calling. I haven't been in Fayette county long enough to know what was going on in previous years, but you guys really sound like a bunch of stereotyped rednecks. Fine--it's all yours. I HAVE a life.

about the Commie part. Alan, HS football for many of us were a very special time that if we could go back and relive I guarantee you most of us would. That is unless you played at McIntosh. I know I never implied that you had anything to do with the TShirts. You just need to understand that HS football is the thing that our community rallies around. I have never seen 5000 people go watch a Math teacher solve a problem or an English teacher conjugate a verb. People are going to react when they feel like they are being belittled, especially from a new school who has not earned the right to be so stuck on themselves

your Son was out there playing getting his body mangled and bruised , having to soak in a tub for hours on Saturday morning just so he can get enough movement back in his body to go back to the grind on Monday you might feel different. You might be as protective of our tradition here at SMHS if your Son came home bloodied and bruised form practice or calls from Summer camp where it is 100 degrees in the shade , sore but lovinvg every minute of it. If you have kids they probably play in the band. I have never seen 2 bands line up and charge each other.

You just don't get straight lines like that handed to you very often.

No offense intended to you or your son.

P.S. No band parents here.

All are welcome to come support the Panthers this Friday night for round two of the state playoffs. We are excited to have a team in the sweet 16!

Several of us will be going down from Sandy Creek. The Panthers are healthy and playing well. I think they will win! let's all show our support for the Panthers Friday!

Submitted by beauvighn on Mon, 11/20/2006 - 5:44pm.

Thanks for throwing your support to the Panthers this week. I know we were all a little sad to hear the Patriots had lost friday. We got a report via cell while we were in the swamp. I was a little surprised to find out that when our score was announced at the WW game the stadium erupted in Boos... I wasn't there now mind you , just what I was told

I was told that they cheered when we were losing and booed that you were winning. it's sad if that is true! We want you to win. The better you do, the better for the county. we are going to have a car pool for going down there. We all have friends at starr's mill and we know that they have missed some games while hurt. now all is well and you are playing great. we will be back next year - it was a hard year for us.

Go Pats - Go Panthers!

that it does not surprise me that this took place. They really remind me of Ga. tech fans in that they do the same thing regarding UGA scores. UGA responds to Tech scores sort of Ho Hum ... no big deal. WW will begin to get respect from other schools in the County and State when they start showing a little class and humility toward their county brethern.

The only cats in town are the only kids from our region to lose- and in the last minute. As a Starr's Mill fan, I find that to be so appropriate. I hope you know you didn't deserve that #2 seed...

Submitted by Proud2BWcat on Sat, 11/18/2006 - 9:52am.

You are a low life, where were you hiding all season? I don't believe you are a SM fan, I do believe you are an idiot! I hope those that blog here and chastise those WHS for arrogance come after you now.

On the other hand, great win for the Panthers; the way that bracket is shaped up, I would not be surprised to see you guys in the Dome again, good luck!

Wildcats class of 2007, it has been a great four year run. Players, cheerleaders, band and others are the best group of student athletes I have ever seen; hold your heads high. You will be graduating soon and when in college you can think back to these great memories.
Thank you class of 2007!

...this is exactly why you widcats "just don't get it. SMHS beats the number one team from that region on the road and your response is "the way that bracket is shaped up, I would not be surprised to see you guys in the Dome again" - yea, Starr's mill got the easy road and WHS got the tough road... (at home with the 3rd place team from that same region).

Good win for a good team - SMHS.

Submitted by Proud2BWcat on Sat, 11/18/2006 - 1:19pm.

myword,
I did not intend to diminish the SM victory, quite contrary, I believe the way SM is playing now, they are unstoppable. I thought the region they were playing against is overrated and weak, as proven last night. SM is much better than any of those teams. A few of us WHS parents knew SM was going to win big last night, that's based on football knowledge and nothing else.

We did not play very good footbal last night, plain and simple. You can't commit turnovers (14 pts!) and give up long pass plays and expect to win.

Submitted by beauvighn on Sun, 11/19/2006 - 11:08pm.

the brackets so that starrs Mill would play the region champion and WW would draw the #3 team. They also called the state athletic association and told them to make sure that Statesboro would throw the game to Ware which would put them against SM. Statesboro went along because it was all a conspiracy to make sure that WW would trip over their new priceless t shirts and lose to a team that sm humilated last season. Yeah, that sounds about right.

roland07, do you realize these kids are 15-18 years old ? I am also a Starr's mill fan, however, these kids work very hard and deserve our support. There is nothing wrong with showing your spirit, but please save your negative comments for another cause.

Submitted by myword_mark on Sat, 11/18/2006 - 12:18pm.

The other 15-18 year olds in town have seen fat women wearing "only real cat in town shirts", "priceless" tee shirts, and "Kings of the county" tee shirts.... don't the other 15-18 year olds work hard? They see the wall of the gym at WHS, they see the out of district players, the vandalism, they hear "special Education teachers" at WHS ask if they "like the screensavers". You are a either a phoney or an hypocrite - or both.

Submitted by myword_mark on Sat, 11/18/2006 - 12:04pm.

Spray paint to vandalize Starr's Mill - $4.79
Running backs from out of district $7,400 each
Not ever winning a region championship or playoff game - PRICELESS

Claims:

The "only real cat in town"
The "Kings of the County"

The Truth:

Lowest SAT Scores in the county
Only school with no titles whatsoever
Most kids with guns
Copied Starr's Mill football bell
Taunted Sandy Creek even though they lost. (The smallest school in county beat the biggest school in the county.)

It's not the kids that the community is angry at - it's the administrators and parents that are printing the shirts, painting the gym wall, and making the tee shirts, and allowing the screensavers.

HEY, Clueless Cats, get some class!

Go Chiefs!

Jeffski....where have you been? Obviously not around Fayette County lately. Showing your spirit is great if it's done with class, but those 15-18 year old kids your talking about had trash talking t-shirts made up and wore them after their win over Starr's Mill. Have you forgotten?? That's not school spirit...that's mean spirited and un-called for. They got what they deserved! Next year they'll make it to the playoffs again and hopefully this season has taught them a valuable lesson in sportsmanship. When they learn to support the teams around them they will get the support and respect they deserve. Congrats to Starr's Mill, Westlake, & Creekside.

Get over it! Ask anyone who saw the t-shirts that mirror the VISA commercials...No matter what you say, they were funny!

Also, no matter what, Whitewater will always have the right to say they were the FIRST Fayette County school to beat Starr's Mill and that is history, plain and simple. It's not bragging, it's just fact.

Good Luck, Starr's Mill! I hope you make Fayette County proud and take it to the Dome! We will be pulling for you!

... Starr's Mill selling you tickets to the playoffs. Bring your clayton county boyz.... represent!

Oh, "It's not bragging - just fact."

Why do you think it's so funny to criticise Fayette Tigers and Starr's Mill Panthers (all kids too- duh) - but cry like the fat little redneck wench that you are when you get it back?

((Read all these blogs - ask yourself what are we doing that makes them all so mad? - you guys just DON"T get it- don't they teach sportsmanship on the farm???))

Submitted by GloriaG on Sat, 11/18/2006 - 11:20am.

I'm sure the FCBOE didn't approve of those shirts because it's just plain bad sportmanship and that's exactly what you parents who wear those shirts and laugh about those shirts are teaching your kids. I don't have children at either school but that's what it looks like as an outsider looking in. This won't change your opinion I'm sure but this is the TRUTH.

Submitted by beauvighn on Mon, 11/20/2006 - 7:09pm.

bored with education couldn't care less about those tshirts. They are just glad that this stuff is taking the heat off of them for a while. they should probably go try to hire another Clayco reject to stick in the county office so we can do it like they did in clayco. That place is filled with the most do nothing bunch of slackers I have ever seen. A great investigative piece of journalism would be to uncover the wast of taxpayer money that goes on with job duplication in the bored with education office. you just might be surprised

Submitted by fcbFAN1 on Sat, 11/18/2006 - 10:24am.

the shirts were funny! No one finds humor in being mean! The shirts will ALWAYS tarnish the win. That is plain and simple. It IS and was bragging. The facts are Whitewater beat Starr's Mill and someone felt the need to rub it in their face. Great lesson you taught those Whitewater kids.

Submitted by McDonoughDawg on Sat, 11/18/2006 - 8:20am.

What kind of comment is that? I have a feeling that most Starrs Mill fans don't feel this way. Sounds like sour grapes. I pull for all the area teams in the playoffs.

Submitted by beauvighn on Sun, 11/19/2006 - 9:46pm.

All SM fans do feel this way. When SM beat Fayette for the first time I don't remember any T Shirts being made up or any other childishness. Whitewater prepared for 4 years to play one game because they model everything after SM.
