Union StationAtlanta aka Shannon Mall

Sorry but one of those "empty movie theaters" you are talking about has been a church for well over a year

as for the Mall if you had supported it maybe it would not be in the shape it is now

I would've loved to. And I did, for many years. But the reality is that the only time it was half-way safe to shop there was before noon on weekdays (when certain elements were not awake enough yet to pose a threat).

If they had been catering to my demographic, or to a wider range of demographics, in the past 5-10 years, it would have been a different story. But instead, my friends and I drive past there to get to Arbor Place, Lenox, and the Mall of Georgia.

Hanging out at a complex like that is a little like playing Russian Roulette. You have something better than an 80% chance of not being robbed or raped. Going there at night is like adding a round or two to make the game more interesting.

I must admit, though, that this is the best place for bling. Ain't nobody carries such a wide variety of bling. The large store that was once a Penneys, "Bling Beez Us," is good. At the other end there is a smaller shop, "Bling N' Things," that specializes in gold necklaces that are also certified towing chains.

At any rate, malls in general are so "seventies."

An 80% chance of being robbed or raped??? Are you serious. I go to Shannon mall quite often and I'm pretty sure that nothing has ever happened to me or anybody else while i've been there. I never hear anything on the news about Shannon Mall either. Maybe you should get your facts straight.

First: Please re-read what I said: "An 80% chance of NOT (that's "not" as in NOT) being robbed or raped. (The figure is not intended to be "facts" that one might or might not "get straight." In Russian Roulette, if you put one round in and have six chambers, the odds after a random spin, are about 84% that your chamber is empty.

Second: I was helping myself to a bit of hyperbole, and assumed a certain degree of sophistication in anyone who bothered reading it.

Third: So do you agree that this is a great place for bling?

I remeber when they built Shannon Mall. As a young teenager, I hung out there, as well as at a game arcade named Tokens on Old National.
The last few times that I have been at the mall, I have felt unsafe.
Also there were more vacant shops than there were open ones. And those open shops don't quite carry a white middle age womens style of clothing. They are very hip-hop and urban. But SEARS is still the place for that new oven.
You cannot blame the people of this county for not supporting that mall. With all the growth we have had here, why would you go further away for less selection?

Shannon Mall is a place for the gansta and the rappa. Not worth visiting if you value your safety.

Hey muddle, I like your new look!! Who's your plastic surgeon? I gotta have some facelift.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but now that you mention it, you are looking a little decomposed.

My plastic surgeon's name is Og and he uses a club for reshaping facial features. Very effective.

Well, I wasn't to say anything either, but you look a little like a gay neanderthal (very much like in real life).

Have a great weekend!

Well, you can always do your oven shopping at the new Sears South (K-Mart). However, that just presents an alternative shopping adventure.
Woof

I remember homes, and friends living on 138 before Shannon was built.I believe a Dairy used to be on the Shannon Mall spot. One of my children graduated from MD Collins high school, hung out at Shannon mall and Tokens as a teen. You can buy a good oven at Lowe's or Home Depot. Shannon has went downhill fast.I haven't been there since a tag was stolen off my car.
