Pelossi

It is amazing how Speaker-to-be Pelossi scares some on the right. She is the latest of the devils the pathetic right wing conjures up to frighten American voters. We must be terribly afraid because she is from San Francisco and we all know that means she is not a true American. Poppycock!!! Give her a chance and all Georgians will benifit. It is time we stopped judging politicians by the checklists of the evangalical right and the NRA.

I am a democrat/independant who is afraid of Nancy Pelosi too. I am afraid of what she can do to the democratic party outside of San Fransisco. Her votes and values do not reflect mine or the mainstream Democrats in too many cases - i.e., the fight that started yesterday over her nomination of Murtha.

She needs to move to center or she will kill the 08 bid for democrats single handedly. Of course that is just my opinion.

Please consider Bill Richardson, Gov. of New Mexico, as a Democrat that can actually win outside of his district. I actually posted some of Pelosi's votes on here for some 'Major' guy to get the argument where is should be- on the issues.

Pelosi is off the party platform on a few key issues right now. While I think she has great potential, I think she needs to recognize that politics are successfully played between the 35's not in the end zones.

Brian Schweitzer, governator of Montana, is a very impressive gentleman. He was raised a farmer and has traveled extensively. Speaking functional Arabic, he has traveled to the middle east and interacted with the Arabic people. The more I see this guy, the more attractive he looks as a presidential candidate in'08. I think we'll all here more from him.

I went to the site and looked - he looks pretty good but I really don't know anything about him. I do like what he says about his dog 'jag' giving the nod when people ar blowing smoke Eye-wink We can all relate to that!

LOL... but seriously, I do like the idea of using more coal energy and converting it to gas and diesel. He says he can make gas for under a buck! He is also a big promoter of wind energy - you know Kennedy hates the whole wind generator thing so I don't know how he would do there. I don't really know much more about him - I'll check in to it though. I know as well read as you are that you are familiar with Bill Richardson - what do you think of him?

I wish I was as "well read" as you, but I am good at starting books and not finishing them. Nice spelling lesson on the FCSB blog Smiling.
I have always liked Bill Richardson's easy going, conversational tone. The mid west is full of no nonsense people who don't spend alot of time reading their own press. new Mexico's governor is certainly one of those people. Not to be too philisophical, the country definitely needs a "uniter," not just someone who says they are a uniter. Schweitzer and Richardson are uniters. McCain might be, but he has ebbed and flowed with the political winds of Washington for quite a while. Mitch Romney, aside from having a religious affiliation not too popular with southerners, seems like an even keeled guy. Who are the independents to watch?

I would love to toss a few names at you but it's not going to happen- 2008 looks like a democratic year for me. I like some things about Rudy but I will hold out to see if Richardson can get traction. You may find this interesting:

No serious threats in 2008

This one is even better:

Still a few years away

They raised Pelossi & this county folded w/ Westmoron.

Where are all the Repubs that said voting for a Dem was a waste because he'd be in a RepuB Congress?
