Discolored Water in Coweta County ???

Does anyone know why the water is a light tea green in Coweta County? I didn't see any posted news concerning this problem... Is there a website I can go to to view "Current" live problems/reports and water "no drink" restrictions during these discoloration periods?

Our water has been "discolored" for months in PTC. We live on the West side near the Coweta line and we have had discolored water for several months. I called the Fayette Cty Water people and they came out (twice) and flushed the hydrants. We then ran 30-40 gallons of water through our system and tried again.....well finally they sent someone in our house to check the water. I was told it was a "tint" in my washing machine basin that was causing the discoloration. I then questioned why my tub fills with the same "tint" and they told me that because it was white, I may have that same "tint" in the tub. Where does this strange tint come from??? Upon getting annoyed with their answer, which was not acceptable, we then proceeded to write a letter to the state, but to date, have not heard any reply from them. Although I believe it is not harmful, we do not drink the water, we filter it first. It is just hard to do your wash and take a bath in what looks like dirtier water from the start.

No problem here in Spyglass Subdivision. If the County wouldn't satisfy me, I would get it independently tested. With as many wells etc in the area, you could find some one to test it.

the Coweta water department. You'll be amused at the answer they give for the reason for water discoloration. I was given the same answer for the reason for the smell. Horrible!!!
