More pot seized in Grantville

Two drug seizures by Grantville Police in the past week netted 82 pounds of suspected marijuana with a street value of $164,000. A controlled-buy Oct. 31 led to the arrest of two men from Fairburn and Union City. The subsequent seizure of 58 pounds of suspected marijuana came after two other UPS deliveries were made but no one arrived to pick them up at the residences.

The most recent seizures followed the Oct. 31 arrests of Caesar Hernandez Aguileria, 22, of Union City, and Armando Mendoza Carranza, 22, of Fairburn, according to Chief Franklin Allen. The men were charged with trafficking in marijuana and Aguileria was also charged with giving false information, Allen said. In that seizure police confiscated 25 pounds of suspected marijuana, he said.

The latest seizures were made after Grantville Police, in conjunction with UPS, attempted a controlled-delivery bust by staking out two vacant residences after packages were delivered. The packages were confiscated after no one arrived at the houses to take possession of them, officials said. Allen said one of the packages contained 23 pounds of suspected marijuana while the other contained 35 pounds. In all, 82 pounds of suspected marijuana with a street value of $164,000 was seized. Allen said it is has not been determined if Aguileria and Carranza were to have been involved in the second series of deliveries.

The incidents leading to the Oct. 31 arrests began when Grantville Police received information from a concerned citizen that a package had been dropped by a UPS delivery truck at a vacant house and later picked up by a Hispanic male, according to Allen.

The UPS driver noted that a second package to be delivered the following day had the same Mission, Texas, shipping address as the package delivered earlier to the residence, said Allen. Working in conjunction with UPS, Grantville Police were notified Oct. 30 that a third package was scheduled for delivery. Following company policy on inspecting suspicious packages, UPS alerted police when the contents of the third package were found to contain a product and packaging consistent with a suspect substance, Allen said.

Aguileria and Carranza were arrested Oct. 31 after they flagged down the UPS driver, produced appropriate identification and took possession of the package. The seizure netted 25 pounds of suspected marijuana, Allen said.

Allen noted that Grantville might have been chosen for the deliveries due to its small size and rural setting. But in the end, he said, the perpetrators made a costly mistake.

“They picked on the wrong town when they picked on Grantville,” Allen said.

Read my blog entry. You need to take my advice. I count three violations thus far. You're not even very smart about it, it's posted for all to see and save.

You are quite the busy body aren't you. Did you want to be Barney Fife when you grow up? Do you always tally "violations" for all to see? If I say you are an @ss is that a violation? Get a life.

The police have always since the earliest dazs inflated their $ numbers. If a pound of pot was worth a $100 but was worth $20 an oz on the street; it becomes a $320 drug bust. They still found a $100 pound of pot. Makes better headlines.
Still a mis-guided drug policy. Irag is a failed strategy after 4 years and this is no better after 50 + .

They seem to spend an inordinate amount of time 'trolling the Interstate looking for the big score. Part of a long time / term mis-guided drug strategy.

Did you see anything in this report about the Interstate? No!
By the way, that's G-r-a-n-t-v-i-l-l-e.

mainframecpu, since when does an ounce of pot cost $128.125?

Submitted by OldSchoolFootball on Thu, 11/09/2006 - 6:34pm.

I have heard that as much as $20 a GRAM (28.3 grams per ounce) That comes out to $450+ an oz. is not unusual in very small (gram bag) quantities.

On ounce for $125 would be based on a purchase of about 1/4 lb. at a time rates.

The problem with trying to buy any quantity is a legal problem. Anything over an ounce is a felony. Anything in multiple bags is intent to distribute if you are caught.

The government could produce and ounce for about .70 and charge $100 for it easily. All profit and tax money.

Many people with liver problems use marijuana for relief. Marijuana is also used to relieve the symptoms of MS and glycoma.

Or so I am told.

Good Pot is Not Cheap-cheap pot is not good.

Is there a privacy issue that I should be paranoid about? If so elaborate please. If not...did that joke just whiz over the top of my head?

Yes, I'm am affraid there is a "minor" privacy issue. I suggest a proxy server and a back up email address for logging on here.

I was able to get in to OldSchoolFootball's account (comcast)and get RightOnTheMoney's account (gov. email addy and IP) after I was pinged by them or at least one of them.

I published RightOnTheMoney's info on here if you want to log on as him. I fixed his butt! He has a government email account NARC?, Cop?, Military? His IP address comes back to Atlanta - Bellsouth. He's done.

Be careful what you say on here-

Change your passwords from time to time -

Go through a proxy server when possible-

Set up a 'dummy' email account with yahoo or hotmail or something similar-

Consider using a program like "Ghost" or another full time proxy-

Scan and delete cookies, adware and spyware using tools like Adware and spybot at least once a week.

All of this will help - of course - you need to use your firewall and have Norton or Macafee virus protection as well.

I changed the password.

I use Adware, Spyblaster & Spybot religously.

Norton is kept up to date.

I dump my caches reguarly.

What's left... the proxy server and a hotmail address.

I will check into Ghost.
