Teen and 2 others tried to check out Whitewater High student

A Morrow teen was arrested at Whitewater High School Wednesday after school officials found a handgun and a knife inside his car, police said.

The student and two others attempted to check a student out from class without parental permission, according to Lt Belinda McCastle of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. After their request was denied, the three lingered on campus and school officials became suspicious and escorted them outside the building, McCastle said.

The teen’s vehicle was searched by school officials, who found a loaded 9 mm handgun and a knife in the glove compartment, McCastle said.

Antonio D. Jinks, 18, was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon on school property, McCastle said. Two other men were served with a criminal trespassing warning but not charged with a crime, she added.

When Jinks was searched, they found two bullets in one of his pockets but no weapons, McCastle noted. The gun, a 9 mm pistol, was loaded with eight rounds, she said.

I guess they were waiting to attend (with their other friends) on special permission.

Was the girl they came to check out there on special permission too?

Just curious - being that one of every ten students at Whitewater High School is on special permission. Yep Sam Sweat said - 184 out of 1800 - amazing isn't it?

Wonder if these brain scientists have H.S. Diplomas?

"After their request was denied, the three lingered on campus", guess they don't have common sense either.

Good work by the police!
