Steve Brown’s Picks:

Fayette County vs. Starr's Mill
Starr’s Mill is having a wild season, but I think they have enough left to defeat Fayette County. It’s STARR’s MILL.

Landmark vs. OLM
Landmark, the unranked team that could, is having a fantastic season. Someone forgot to tell Landmark they were supposed to lose to Eagle’s Landing last week. LANDMARK’s winning ways will continue this week over Our Lady of Mercy.

McIntosh @ Creekside
It was great to see McIntosh amass some points on the scoreboard last week. However, CREEKSIDE will be too much for our Chiefs.

Sandy Creek @ Cedartown
Cedartown is about as down-and-out as a football team can get. The boys from SANDY CREEK should roll on this one!

Whitewater @ Northgate
At times the Northgate Vikings have shown signs of being a very good football team. Their 5-4 record is misleading. They lost to Woodward by 4 and fell short to Creekside by 6 points. I am taking WHITEWATER, but they had better be careful!

UGA @ Auburn
Georgia is looking at a 6-6 season, ouch! The Dawgs are having trouble on both sides of the line scrimmage. Kentucky’s bottom of the heap defense kept Georgia in check last week. According to John Thompson, the last time the Dawgs lost to both Vandy and Kentucky in the same season was 1973! There is no choice, it’s AUBURN.

Georgia Tech @ North Carolina
The frightening part is this should be one of those games where the Jackets steamroller over the Tar Heels. Carolina’s Coach John Bunting is officially terminated at season’s end. Everyone has been holding their breath rooting for Tech this season. Having a stellar season has its reward as Tech just sign prized top defensive end Derrick Morgan from Coatesville, Pa. and several other top high school prospects. Concentrate and win GEORGIA TECH!

Falcons vs. Browns
Who knows with the Falcons? They beat a solid Bengals team and then lose to the pitiful Lions squad. The only Browns wins were against the suspect Raiders and the Jets. Then again, we are talking about the Falcons! I will take the FALCONS only because they are playing at home.

Staff members picks:

Mike Boylan (61-24) - Starr's Mill, Landmark, Creekside, Sandy Creek, Whitewater, Auburn, Tech, Falcons

John Thompson (56-29) - Starr's Mill, Landmark, Creekside, Sandy Creek, Whitewater, Auburn, Tech, Falcons

John Munford (59-26) - Starr's Mill, Landmark, Creekside, Cedartown, Whitewater, Auburn, Tech, Falcons

Magic 8 Ball (43-42) - Starr's Mill, Landmark, McIntosh, Sandy Creek, Whitewater, Georgia, Tech, Falcons

Way to pound that Auburn team!

Does anyone know the score of the McIntosh game?

You can't possibly be picking Cedartown over Sandy Creek...Its got to be a typo.

My crack research staff failed me on this one. I"d gotten wind that somehow Cedartown was undefeated when in fact the opposite is true.

The silver lining is that at this stage of the game, if Cedartown does pull off a miracle, I'll gain one win on everyone else.

That said, my director of research has been fired. The position will remain vacant the rest of the season as I'll turn the picks over to the family pet, Jason the fish.

Good luck to my Wildcats, the Panthers and the Patriot’s tomorrow night; if we win, we are all in! I’m sure any one of these teams will represent the county well. Sandy Creek and Starr’s Mill are playing good ball right now; Whitewater needs to be ready to play and I’m sure they will be up to the task.

Look, we have been hammered with injuries, do we (McIntosh) really have to play unbeaten Creekside? Ugh.

Anyway, I agree with all of the John Munford picks but one- I think Northgate is a better team than Whitewater - Northgate by 3.

Stirring the pot-
