Incumbent Rep. Lynn Westmoreland has jumped out with an early lead in his effort to return to the U.S. House for a second term.
With 1 percent of the precincts reporting,Westmoreland had 708 votes to political newcomer and Democrat Mike McGraw's 316 votes.
In Coweta County, lines of an hour or more were common as polls drew to a close at 7 p.m.
