Starr's Mill's volleyball state championship hope still alive, Sandy Creek falls in semi-finalsFri, 11/03/2006 - 8:49am

Sandy Creek’s fantastic volleyball season came to an end on Thursday night, while Starr’s Mill’s dream season will continue on to the Class AAAA state finals tomorrow. The Lady Panthers (41-10) defeated Woodward Academy in five games, 25-22, 25-12, 21-25, 21-25, 15-11. They will now take on Marist at Marietta High School tomorrow at 4 p.m. for the Class AAAA state championship. Starr’s Mill faced Marist on Aug. 24 and lost 25-17, 25-20. It was the two teams only meeting this year. The Lady Patriots fell to Blessed Trinity in four games, 27-29, 25-19, 25-18, 25-15. Sandy Creek finished the season with a record of 50-12 and will return their entire squad next year. login to post comments |
