The state volleyball tournaments start tomorrow as eight local teams will begin their quest for a championship. Here are the match-ups:

Class AAAAA

East Coweta (14-15) vs. Parkview (25-18) at Parkview, 10:30 a.m. The winner meets the winner of Northview and Kell at 3 p.m. Parkview has gone 4-6 over their last 10 games, while East Coweta has gone 7-3 over their last 10 games.

Class AAAA

Northgate (18-10) vs. Evans (31-2) at Fayette County, 9 a.m. The winner meets the winner of St. Pius and Lithia Springs at 3 p.m. Northgate faced a lot of tough competition at the end of the season to prepare for the state tournament. Evans has win streaks of 14 and 13 this season and has won their last four games.

Whitewater (24-15) vs. Greenbrier (32-11) at McIntosh, 9 a.m. The winner meets the winner of Sequoyah and Ridgeland at 3 p.m. Whitewater had an eight game winning streak this season and squared off against some of the state’s toughest teams to close the season. Greenbrier went 8-2 over their last 10 games.

Starr’s Mill (37-10) vs. Glynn Academy (28-11) at Fayette County, 1:30 p.m. The winner meets the winner of Chapel Hill and North Springs at 4:30 p.m. Starr’s Mill won yet another area title, this time in Class AAAA. They had two winning streaks of 10 games and avenged two losses to McIntosh this season in the area championship game. Glynn Academy had an 11 game winning streak this season.

McIntosh (30-15) vs. Lakeside-Evans (9-7) at McIntosh, 1:30 p.m. The winner will face the winner of Dalton and Hillgrove at 4:30 p.m. McIntosh went 9-1 over their last 10 games.
Lakeside-Evans has incomplete results on their page at GaSports.com, missing results from matches with Aquinas. It also appears they did not play in any tournaments this season.

Class AAA

Sandy Creek (47-11) vs. Grady (6-8) at Westminster, 10:30 a.m. The winner of this match will take on the winner of Hart County and Eagle’s Landing at 3 p.m. Sandy Creek had winning streaks of nine, 10 and 13 games this season and has won three in a row heading into tomorrow’s match. Grady had a seven game losing streak this season.

Class AA/A

Our Lady of Mercy (19-21) vs. Savannah Christian (33-16) at Holy Innocents, 8 a.m. The winner faces the winner of Gordon Lee and Chattahoochee County at 11 a.m. These two teams met on Sept. 2 and Savannah Christian won 25-8, 25-16.
Savannah Christian had two winning streaks of seven games this season.

Landmark Christian (24-15) vs. Savannah Country Day (15-15) at Holy Innocents, 9:30 a.m. The winner of this match will meet the winner of Walker and Jefferson at 12:30 p.m. Landmark has won 14 of their last 18 games and had a nine game winning streak going from Sept. to October.
Savannah Country Day’s page on GaSports.com was missing several area results. It is very likely that their record is higher than indicated.
