Solicitor: party host knew gun was present A Peachtree City teen who hosted a party that ended in the shooting death of another teen in June has pled no contest to one charge stemming from the incident. Christopher P. Canderozzi, 18 of 415 Constitution Circle pled no contest to reckless conduct because he failed to act after finding out one of the guests had brought a gun to the party, according to State Court Solicitor Jamie Inagawa. The gun discharged at one point, killing Dallas Crenshaw, 18, of Pinegate Road. Kevin Michael Johnston, 17, of HiLo Road, Sharpsburg is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the case. Police said Johnston was holding the gun when it discharged. Johnston also faces several other related charges. Canderozzi hosted the party at home while his parents were away, officials said. Canderozzi entered his plea in the case Oct. 18. He also pled guilty to a misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana, for which he received first offender status; a third count of underage possession of alcohol was dismissed, Inagawa said. State Court Judge Fletcher Sams sentenced Canderozzi to 24 months probation and fines which added up to $2,225 including court costs. Sams also ordered Canderozzi must undergo random drug and alcohol tests, be evaluated for substance abuse and mental health issues, attend a drug court session and attend a character development course. Canderozzi is also forbidden from possessing any firearms as part of the conditions handed down by Judge Sams. login to post comments |
