Bicyclist Assaults Bus DriverA FREE SPEECHER WRITES Anyone that knows the name of the 30-something child on a bicycle that threw a container of water through the window of a Fayette County school bus, hitting the bus driver in the face, endangering 50-plus students on board, please call Fayette County Board of Education. Also, we the citizens would like to thank the PTC police department for NOT coming to the aid of that bus driver. What is wrong with this picture? I have children that ride the school bus and it upset me to observe what happened. If the bus driver did something to upset the 30-something, then he should have called the Fayette County Board of Education and complained. In my eyes, I feel this was an assault on that bus driver, and that 30-something needs to have his bicycle taken away from him, and some therapy on anger management. Thanks IMNSHO for helping us to understand how and why the PTC Police responded to this incident. See this link for his explanation: You don't know what you are talking about. Now let's go to the newly enacted Georgia law that permits motor vehicles to run down bicyclists who impede traffic and act in a rude and nasty manner. Current Status A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Article 2 of Chapter 3 of Title 16 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to justification and excuse as a defense to certain crimes, so as to provide that a person who is attacked has no duty to retreat; to provide that such person has a right to meet force with force, including deadly force; to provide for an immunity from prosecution; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes. This bill pertains to the ever increasing issues of bicyclist and car jackers who harass, intimidate, and or assault a motor vehicle operator. Hope that helps folks. I'm just here to help.
