Online decal cut-off: Stupid

Today is Oct. 22. Registration of PTC golf carts is not due until Oct. 31. Yet someone has made the decision to suspend the online registration because the city will not be able to process the applications in time.

That is just stupid. Stupid! Instead of suspending online registrations, offer a warning that if using the system, due to heavy activity, you may not receive your decal by the deadline.

Neither my wife nor I are going to take off work to register a golf cart, which we haven’t used in years for the convenience of the city. My golf cart is already registered. The golf cart has been registered since the first requirement to register came out. My registration information hasn’t changed in the 16 years I’ve owned the golf cart.

The city should already know who my golf cart belongs to if they’ve done their part and kept up with their records. Why must the law-abiding citizens, which are the majority, usually suffer the consequences caused by inadequate government, and society’s bad element?

I would be embarrassed to send a letter like this to the newspaper, where everyone could read what an whining idiot I am.

You've had plenty of time to register your golfcart online, and there are plenty of good reasons why you should. I'm guessing you're one of those who complains about having to get a new decal for your car every year, too? This is no different.

Then drive your car and sell the cart - and stop whining - it makes you look - well- like a girl.

This is the easiest thing to do and probably the one with the earliest notification - at least 6 months. How hard is it? They gave you all this time and all these choices and now at the last minute you complain? Good God man - vote Democrat - then move away.

Mr. Klingler:

You've lived in Peachtree City for 16 years. I'm also going to guess that you received a notice at least two months ago to register. Why are you waiting until the last minute?

Why must the law-abiding citizens, which are the majority, usually suffer the consequences caused by inadequate government, and society’s bad element?

Because people don't come into City Hall to say they sold their golf cart. New owners don't register. People sometimes STEAL things. Unfortunately, enough citizens didn't do what they were supposed to, so now we have to start over.

Enjoy paying your $80 fine - I bet you can pay that online.

Where have you been for the last few months?

I registered mine online over two months ago. No problem.

That you procrastinated this long and you haven't driven your cart in years, you can do it by snail mail.

I've included the link to the form below.

Mail in "Golfcart Registration Form"

Open the form and print it.

Put it in an envelop with adequate postage and mail it to:

City Hall
151 Willowbend Road
Peachtree City, GA 30269

Sorry I won't write the check for you but that's just how it goes.
