KATHY COX UNFIT TO BE STATE SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT!

This evening, there was a forum for candidates in the State School Superintendent's race. The candidates had been solicited to appear and had agreed to participate in July. On Friday, Kathy Cox's office informed the sponsor of the forum (Georgia Arts Education Association and Arts Leadership League of Georgia) that she would not be in attendance. The excuse given at that time was that she had "a boe emergency". (???)

Whatever the lame excuse ended up being, the empty chair on the stage spoke volumes about Kathy Cox's commitment to keeping her job. Maybe she thinks it's impressive that we're 46th. Maybe she thought no one would be paying attention. Either way, she thought wrong.

I appreciated the opportunity to hear from the other candidates and will be choosing one of them. Since Kathy Cox thought it was more important to stay home, I'd like to help her do that more often. Eye-wink

Well, I'm like you. If Cox decides not to show up, she doesn't get the vote! Further, I actually like Denise Majette's platform better than any of the 3. I think she will bring a well needed change to the education system of Georgia. For me, it's not a democrat or republican issue but a clear choice in what is better for Georgia. IMHO.

I just read this piece about Kathy Cox and how aghast you are that she missed a debate. Sure, she may have ducked it, but maybe, just maybe, there was something that did occur.Instead of researching what came up, you just started dogging her out.

So I did some research, not a Kathy's record, but your previous blogs and saw that you are just another Democrat who is desperate to make some small ripple in the big political pond.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, but at least have the "round spherical objects" to tell us your name. So many on this website refuse to share their name, which is permitted, and even understandable from time to time, but if you really believe in the Democratic candidates that your blogs evidence, then just tell us who and what we should vote for. Are you ashamed of being a Democrat?

With the recent headlines - more and more people will be voting Democratic. Ashamed? Hmmmmmm.

The deflect-and-attack strategy only works on weak minds; surely, you have figured out that I am a little smarter than that. Kathy Cox gave a lame excuse and failed to appear. I hear that her camp was pressed to explain the last-minute cancellation and could not explain the "boe emergency". That's not a Democrat or Republican issue; it's an incumbent-who-decided-it-wasn't-important-enough-to-show-up issue. I made the time to be there; a few hundred other people (some from as far as Coastal South Georgia) made the time to be there. The other candidates made time to be there. The only important and empty seat belonged to the incumbent who, ostensibly, thinks her job is safe. I have not decided which of the two candidates who did appear will get my vote but I definitely will Not vote for Kathy Cox.

As for your assertions that I am a Democrat, you truly couldn't be more wrong. I went to the forum last night -- as I have gone to several forums -- with an open mind. At present there are only 2 races about which I have made up my mind: Hunstein (non-partisan) for Supreme Court and McGraw (Democrat) for Congress. The rest -- all of the rest -- are still in play. So, no, I am not a Democrat -- either by registration or by record. I am a proud, conservative independent. In my lifetime, I have voted for Republicans, Libertarians, Democrats and, yes, in one instance looooong ago, a member of the Reform Party. Parties treat people like they are stupid -- the current parties, included. They require you to ignore the qualifications of the candidates in the party, in favor of some well-crafted sales pitch that purports to be a platform. No thanks, I prefer my information without pre-digestion. Candidates get my vote the old fashioned way . . . they earm it.

As for my name, I find it oddly amusing that you ask -- no, virtually demand that I comply. Better yet, you allege that I am a Democrat attempting to make "some small ripple in the big political pond." The flaw in your logic, Richard, is that it is impossible to make a ripple in anonymity; the ripple requires publicity and that, Sir, is something I will never pursue. Is it so unfathomable that I simply prefer to call a lie for what it is without regard to any personal benefit? Maybe I tell too much truth. Is it possible that I refuse to ignore "the man behind the curtains" and insist on calling him out for the fraud that he is just a little too often? You will, no doubt, believe whatever you want to believe, irrespective of my response. But, a hit dog will holler.

Tell 'ya what, Richard, I would have had the "round spherical objects" to give my name if Kathy Cox possessed the "round spherical objects" to show up last night.

She is just using the McKinney strategy. It is a well known and highly ineffective way to not-debate. It's new.

This anonymous woman absolutely obliterates Mr. "Richard" and all you have to hang your hat on is her anonymity? Wow. By the way. KEEP UP. Cynthia McKinney is not running fopr anything. But the nation does have Mr. Maccaca, would have had Foley if the RCC had its way, Still has Bob Ney, and has the highlight of Mr. "I cheated on my wife, but I didn't choke my girlfriend." Hmm... a ticket to make one proud. But facts can't be twisted as easily as rhetoric, so continue to celebrate the bottom rung of the educational ladder. The previous post was undoubtedly hard for you to comprehend. ps. If you bring up Stubbs in your reply, be sure to include the REPUBLICAN, Crane, who not only did the underage page thing, but cheated on his wife in the process. Shall we get back to the issues, or continue to empty the Cunningham, Abramoff, Libby, Delay, Hasstert laundry bin?

You might know from my screen name that I can't smoke that bowl, but my sense of humor is slowly reemerging. Thanks. I like your wit. Keep mixing it up on the boards. It makes for a good gumbo.
