In what many in attendance will tell you was the greatest high school football game they ever saw, the Whitewater Wildcats defeated Starr's Mill 15-14 with just over a minute remaining in the game.

Starr's Mill took a 14-0 lead into the half thanks to two touchdown runs from quarterback Robby Davis. Halfway through the third quarter the Wildcats got on the scoreboard when quarterback Jay Bright connected on a pass to Cody Haralson who ran 80 yards for the touchdown. Their final score, one sure to go down in the annals of the school's history, came on a halfback pass from Tavorsi Dixon to Bright on a critical fourth down with 1:12 left on the clock. Bright scored the two point conversion on a quarterback keeper.

This was the first varsity meeting between these two teams and a classic rivalry has already been formed. Be sure to read the Wednesday edition of The Citizen for final stats, scores from all other region games and a look ahead to next week's games.

I would rather take them out on you. Fisrt, I don't have a son I am too young. Second - I called you out. Let's Meet. I am the Marine who will stand in for OldSchool. You game sissy?

Why don't you "man up, grow some balls" and stop talking trash on a newspaper website. Lots of people read these blogs. Not just the people they are directed to.
Did you know Oldschool is 70 years old? Did you ever learn respect for your elders.
Debate all you want, but why use that kind of talk. It just shows that you are an immature, low class person.

I did not know he was 70, and I apologize for offending you with the term "grow some balls." Regaurdless, he(OldSchool) needs to show the respect our team deserves and admit that he has been wrong about our team and apologize for patronizing our team.

It would be very sad if we analyzed every call made in a football game to decide whether they were right or wrong and had any bearing in the outcome of any game. WHS fought hard to come from behind, that’s all there is to it. Come on Old School, you can give our boys credit at least one time, can you?

I was standing by the fence on the goal line, the QB did make the conversion, although close.

As far as the special permission kids, if the FCBOE has allowed them to attend WHS, it must be ok.

We will not let these distractions take away from our victory, Starr’s Mill has been the measuring stick for football in this county and a victory last night is a big deal for our school. Let us enjoy it.

We are no powerhouse, and are not established as SC under Rodney Walker or SM under Earwood, but we are working on it!
