By: The Citizen
Features council minutes back to 1959 Peachtree City’s web site has a new look and feel after an intensive redesign process aimed at making the site more user-friendly and interactive, officials said. The modernized site offers a peek into the city’s history, with City Council minutes available for view dating back to the city’s inception in 1959. Minutes of planning commission meetings are also available with other historical documents including newspaper articles referencing the initial plans for Peachtree City. To improve ease of use, patrons can use a series of buttons up top with information categorized for particular users. There’s a separate button for residents, businesses, visitors and activities. The city’s online service offerings are still intact, allowing residents to pay a traffic fine, register for a recreation program, view maps and more, all from the comfort of their home computer. The “virtual neighborhood” feature, which displays upcoming yard sales and other information, has also been carried over to the new site. The new site also makes better use of artwork displaying classic scenes of Peachtree City, from the water fountain outside City Hall to colorful trees along Lake Peachtree in the fall. For those who don’t care for the new site, the old site will remain online at www.ptcgovernment.org. login to post comments |
