Thomas Jefferson's prophetic writing on the TDK Highway

With a few substitutions! Mr. Jefferson was actually writing about public roads:

"I view [the TDK Highway] as a source of boundless patronage to the executive [PTC City Council], jobbing to members of Congress [developers in Coweta County] and their friends, and a bottomless abyss of public money."

BTW, Thomas Jefferson would own a golf cart if he were here today! Smiling

Good Lord!! How in the world do you manage to get up and face the world every day with such a pessimistic outlook!! Geez!! Talk about being Debbie Downer and Chicken Little rolled into one!

May I suggest Prozac?

Three comments for mudcat:

1. I am not Steve, nor did I vote for him.
2. Your avatar is wrong. A mudcat is a fish, not a cat.
3. You wrote "Thank's" - - -you meant "Thanks."

cheers!

Ease what traffic? The TDK debate is not about "easing" the traffic.
The issue at hand is about stopping a TRAFFIC DEBACLE that will alter the residential nature of our city. TDK has absolutely nothing to do with "easing" traffic. There are many looming traffic capacity issues that Fayette County and PTC must confront, but these don't have anything to do with TDK. TDK does nothing beneficial for future traffic conditions in PTC or Fayette County, except to make them significantly worse. If Coweta County wants high density development, more power to them. But why do we have to allow them to use our residential streets as cut-throughs? TDK will simply allow massive development in eastern Coweta, that will then literally get a free pass through our city.

BTW, where is your turkey man avatar? Did he go for a swim at the scenic beach?
