The future of Tyrone starts next week. To address the issues surrounding the town’s growth, The Town of Tyrone has begun the process of updating its Comprehensive Plan. This plan will serve as the official long-range policy for guiding future decisions concerning land use, zoning and public facilities for the Town of Tyrone. In preparing this Comprehensive Plan Update, the town is soliciting input from local residents, business owners and other community stakeholders. The public is invited to attend the Visioning Workshop October 12 at Town Hall, beginning at 7 p.m. in the council chambers. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The primary purpose of this workshop is to solicit public input and provide a forum to discuss current issues and identify opportunities that effect the Town’s future. The results from this workshop will drive the development of the 2007 Town of Tyrone Comprehensive Plan. The plan itself will outline how the town proposes to achieve the goals and objectives identified by its citizens. This plan will cover a twenty-year planning horizon and address such topics as population, economic development, housing, natural and cultural resources, community facilities and services, intergovernmental coordination, transportation and land use. login to post comments |
