In the line of duty

U.S. Marine Lance Corporal James Chamroeun was laid to rest Friday with full military honors at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The Union City resident died in the line of duty in Iraq on Sept. 28.

The 20 year-old Chamroeun is survived by parents victor and Weena Ny of Union City, sister Rebecca Chamroeun and brothers Specialist John Chamroeun (U.S. Army), Joel Chamroeun and Wilton Ny, all of Union City.

May my young brother, U.S. Marine Lance Corporal James Chamroeun, ride to heaven on the wings of God's angels. He is a hero and a credit to himself and the United States Marine Corps. Semper-Fi, I will fight with you, and for you, forever.

Thank you especially to Lance Corporal Chamroeun's entire family. Godspeed to brother Specialist John Chamroeun. Please come home safely.
