Yes, there was a bad golf cart accident early Friday afternoon right at the end of the cart bridge that crosses 74 (near Wisdom Road). A man on a bicycle was hit by a cart and lifeflight was brought in. I was on Hwy 74 when they stopped traffic to land the helicopter. The man's outline is there on the cart path. My guess is we will see a story posted this morning.

I don't know about the one cart wreck that you asked about happening. However, usually these sort of things are not reported to the police, nor the paper, if it can be helped. Two reasons for that---the offender doesn't want the paperwork and the community doesn't want the bad publicity. Of course, now we have six more cart path officers (I think) and maybe such things will have tickets written. Maybe they haven't ordered the special tickets for cart path offenses yet? Just don't drive in PTC on the roads if you own a vehicle over six years old, it is dirty, has been bumped, obviously, is driven BWD, or YWD, and is noisy (more than a Harley).

Many golf cart accidents *are* reported to the police, because there are often injuries (due to unrestrained passengers), or because those involved want to file an insurance claim (which requires a police report). And if it is reported to the police, then the media should know, too, since they have scanners and other sources.

It is very sad that this unfortunate accident happened. The lady that was driving the golf cart is a very kind and faith-filled person, who would not hurt a fly. I am sure that the victim is also a wonderful person. Both deserve our prayers in this time of need, as well as their families. I have a very slow golf cart, and at times, I've had the necessity to pullover because another cart or bike comes from a blind bend. We do not know the circumstances of this tragedy, but our prayers are with both families.

James Earle has a dog walking business and he was walking my dog daily up until this unfortunately accident happened. I didn't have a lot of details and was so very worried about him, his wife, and the other person that was involved in the accident. I continue to keep Jim, his wife, and the other individual involved in this accident in my prayers. I pray daily for a miraculous recovery for Jim... it's so unfortunate that this accident happened. I posted a blog because I didn't have any details and didn't want to continue to bother his wife, especially in this difficult time. If anyone else is reading this... please pray for a Miraculous Recovery for Jim !!!!
