Former Chamber chairman has no financial interest in controversial East Coweta project

By: Letters to the ...

Jim Pace does not have a financial interest in the McIntosh Community project proposed for east Coweta County; as an owner of the project I can make this statement with some authority.

Everyone is entitled to form and voice their own opinion of the TDK Extension and the Coweta development; however, the statements and innuendoes that Mr. Pace supported the project for his own financial gain is irresponsible.

I am a business competitor of Mr. Pace; I have never spoken to him about the Coweta project. In addition to being an astute business leader, Mr. Pace has given countless hours of his time to numerous civic organizations in Peachtree CIty and Fayette County. I believe our community is a better place due to his contributions.

Yes, he has also served as an elected official; all one has to do is read the local paper to know what a thankless task that is.

Jim has clearly stated his reasons for his past support of the TDK Extension; he has not attempted to deflect criticism by playing both sides of the issue (that is called leadership).

Disagree with his position if you choose; but do not confuse a clear conviction of what is best for the community as a lack of integrity.

What an enduring letter from Mr. Leslie. The headline to his letter should truthfully read: "Former Chamber chairman has no financial interest in controversial East Coweta project - yet." Group VI is all over Coweta County.

Jim Pace lied to us saying that TDK was all about traffic relief. However, even when the cat was out of the bag, Pace told the newspaper that we should build TDK anyway. Now that's leadership!

Vote Republican

Spear Road Guy, I've seen you on numerous post, all ending with your "Vote Republican" tag but everyone you criticize is a Republican. Maybe you should consider coming over to our side.

The Republicans are no longer fiscal conservatives and the Democratic Party lacks a spine.

Reject party politics and make them actually EARN your vote.

I'll say something nice about your Dad, JeffC...After the Nixon Whitehouse, the image of the Presidency was tremendously troubled throughout the world. Jimmy Carter restored the trust in our traditions and our way of life and he did so in remarkably short order.

I truly believe that. Jettison all the other criticism you folks may muster but that point is clear.

What you must admit in your heart JeffC is that Bill Clinton did far more damage to the dignity of the White House than any other President in history. I do not believe that that point is subject to credible debate either.

So, I am one of those that will longer call myself a "Republican" but I sure as heck don't want to be aligned with Bill Clinton and Danny Glover. No thanks on the offer to switch !

I agree with tortugaocho but I am still a conservative and usually a Republican.

Does anyone else notice that it is just recently that fomer Presidents (All Democrats)have broken the gentleman's agreement from attacking the current President. During all the scandals of the Clinton years, George Herbert Walker Bush was silent.

Now, Clinton and Carter (Great job selling us out to North Korea by the way) can't say enough bad things about President Bush.

Neither Clinton or Carter started a war with no idea of how to pay for it, win it or end it.

Throwing more young men and woman at it hasn’t seemed to generate any good results either.

..with Americans in chains and who allowed terroists 8 years without any serious attempt to stop them?

Sometimes not confronting evil allows it to grow and spread. Clinton further endangered us by cutting and running from Somalia, which is now an Al Queda stronghold. Maybe if he had the backbone that President Bush has, that country would be free from Al Queda's influence.

I guess the only good wars are those good for PR like Bosnia and Hati. Real strategic interests there!

Carter and Clinton both made mistakes. So did Regan, Bush sr, Olie North, Iran/Contra......hello 12 yrs of mistakes. Now Bush jr, is making a bunch of mistakes.
Who is going to pay for the trillions of dollars in national debt? I don't have grandkids so it doesn't bother me that much, but someone is going to have to pay for all of it.

Those who don't call a mistake, a mistake, are doomed to perish with the mistaker. This fivr year slaughter with NO lasting results is a catastrophe just like Viet Nam and Korea, and Katrina.

The mistake, if you call millions slaughtered in Cambodia and Vietnam was abandoning our ally. If Vietnam is better off under the communists, why did all the boat people risk their lives to flee. That abandonment started many enemies to question our will, just as Al Queda is doing today and the Dems are tuning up the old cut and run song.

Tell half of Korea that we should have abandoned them. You should have supported that war, it was the last time the UN got it right.

Katrina just shows how incompetent LOCAL mayors and one state Governer and don't forget the individuals that did not evacuate. Riddle me this, how come FEMA has done so well for every other hurricane, how Florida and Mississippi do so well? Could it be the MSM have an ax to grind?

I did support Korea major, three and a half years worth. Didn't make it right and it is only a matter of time till north and south re-combine, just as Germany did. I'm sure you would have gone into China with General MacArthur. South Vietnam has never been "better off." Not before we came, not during our stay, and not now. This is another case of not enough troops to occupy the place. So, the ignorant minorities in N.O. are to blame for not walking out of the flood? The sick, the infirm, the starved, the kids, and the old people should have started hiking out. These are the people who work for practically nothing to run N.O. for the wealthy tourists. Notice that the thugs got out OK. They had, or stole, cars. I suppose the way to stop such ignorance and poverty is to show no mercy and maybe the new kids will do better, right? It is a waste of time to blame a mayor and a governor who serve one term and fly away.Compare what we did for the twin tower families and what we did for N.O. people. Millions against $2000 cash.
