Steve Brown has just announced he was withdrawing from the Run-off

Steve Brown has now announced that he is conceding the election in order to help bring some closure to this epic period in our City. Knowing that the odds against winning were too much for any reasonable hopes of winning, and not willing to cost the taxpayers any additional expenses, he graciously stepped down today. Quoted by a local reporter, Mayor Brown said, "Its always been about what is best for the citizens of PTC, its never been about me. I obviously am disappointed in the results, but I will step down and allow a natural progression of the Mayor's office to move from my adminitration to Harold Logsden's. I wish him the best of luck, and I want to remind the citizens of PTC, that I will not stop fighting for you, I will not stop looking out for you, I will not stop working for a better quality of life in PTC. Although my future work will be as a private citizen, I will continue to fight on."

NOT.

It sounded good, didn't it. But unfortunately, no one could imagine that this parody is true. . . for those that do, trust me, I just made it up, so don't get your tail feathers all up in a tizzie.

My point was to demonstrate how this election should have ended. Perhaps at the Runoff, if Brown looses by almost two or three to one, then his entire political career will come crashing down around him.

The best political move would be for him to withdraw, but then again, one must ask if this was about what was best for PTC or what was about an EGO that was intoxicated with the power of office.

This newspaper gave him the first taste of power, by allowing his diatribes to go unanswered on a weekly basis. The office of Mayor helped the EGO grow. Now a sounding defeat may be exactly what the doctor ordered.

Great piece. All that was missing was an "I love you all" quote. No sadly, it is not true but no matter - while he got 20% of the vote he also got 80% of the anti-Brown vote. Coming back from that is impossible. Great election 3 for 3. Welcome back adults running the city.

Very funny, CarpeDan. Got us believing it !

Even though it's over for Brown, its amazing how some politicians can come back. Dan Lakly. And Dan Tennant. Gets 9 % of the vote and is still squawking away, like somebody is listening. Almost as funny as his screen name antics with Ghetto from the Ghetto. Maybe Brown will call it quits after the runoff. You never know--- people wrote Lakly off.

Well, its a great country.

Hey Carp, not sure who you are, but I'll take the credit for the comments you posted, nice work! This guy also thinks I'm Ghetto, which is sort of sweet. I love this. By the way, fayetteobservers, I hate to break it to you, but I got 11%, not 9% and that's 829 more votes than you got.

Brown is too full of himself to call it quits after the runoff. He will make it his obsession to harrass Harold for 4 years. No matter, like me, he is a has been. Back to the sidelines Steve, it's fun over here anyhow!
