Dale Russell I-Team Bruce Jordan

Dale Russell needs to do some more open records requests on how the drug money is being spent. I have been reading all these blogs abuot the sheriff and Bruce and if you read them all there are a lot of questions that need to be answered and our newspapers have never tried to find the answers. I'm sorry it takes someone outside the county to dig into our dirty laundry but if we aren't going to do it ourself then someone has to do it.

You aren't going to find a lot of investigative reporting in the local newspapers. The Fayette Section of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution should be called the warm and fuzzy section.

If all that the reporters relie on to write their stories is what the government presents in public meetings, we are all be cheated from knowing the truth.

I'm sorry, that's my opinion.

Ain't going to happen as an expose. Too dangerous to a small paper in a small community. Beside it is expensive to hire qualified expose reporters and you simply can't trust inexperienced ones to do it. I certainly get no thrill out of this sort of thing. Better that we never heard of it. If it is true and has gone on this long, then it is our fault not the Sheriffs.

Here's how I see it going down today and tomorrow. This newspaper is going to have a factual story tomorrow but nothing new except maybe comments from some people. Randall is going to wait until tomorrow to unleash his "internal ivestigation" because he and the other paper are joined at the hip and they'll publish whatever he tells them to.

No matter what its not going to stop the television I-Team.

Well, Well, Well what a difference a day makes. Seems that the smoke and mirrors internal investigation has hit a major snag. Hard to be in Tenn. for 5 days on private business when your time sheet only shows that "someone" used 1 day vacation and the other 4 days are payed as if he was working on Sheriff business. Don't think that is true, ask for an open records for all pay records for that week. Now folks, we could say it was bad book keeping on some clerks part but it goes on all the time. I wish I had a job that everytime I was out of town on family business I was writing it off like I was working. A quick look at the law says that is Felony theft. But who am I to say that, I am sure the "Internal Investigation" will find that out and expose it to the public. And if it does not, some smart citizen will do the open records on the whole investigation so that the public will see it.

Now I believe the Sheriff will offer some type of reduction in rank and pay to keep this investigation from getting out of hand and into the press for those press people willing to take him on, but a wave of people that have been stepped on over the years is going to bring all of this into the bright sun light.

I had a great deal of respect for the Sheriff, and always felt he would always do the right thing, I hope he does not let me down.

Well, you should know that better than anyone. But in this case, I'm not aware of any public government meetings. Maybe you'll fill us in.

The way I see it Dale Russell could probably do a report once a day on some police agency in the state and I think he should. I think I will email him and tell him Doraville Police Dept. should be next, it's a sad state of affairs that I live in Fayetteville and know of a police dept thats crooked thats 40 or more miles away, dont get me wrong their Chief is a great guy but he has a few officers working for him that give the dept. a bad name, for instance you shouldnt have an officer on the road carrying a weapon that has doctor documented ADHD and hes not on his medication and this is just one example, time to email Dale.

Those who fail or refuse to do good in the face of evil are sowing some dangerous seeds. They are doing nothing good as Jesus commanded them to do; they are helping evil to win and have ceased being good and have become partakers of the evil they did nothing to stop.

Do not allow evil to triumph. Do not do sit by and do nothing. Stand up and be counted, speak up against evil and speak out against evil men and their sinful deeds.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

"WHEN BAD MEN COMBINE, THE GOOD MUST ASSOCIATE; ELSE THEY WILL FALL, ONE BY ONE, AN UNPITIED SACRIFICE IN A CONTEMPTIBLE STRUGGLE."
Edmund Burke, Irish Philosopher; after the French Revolution.. This observation has been paraphrased in many different ways, including the one posted by nneed4justice.

Don't you think that this has special application to Fayette County's problems with the Sheriff's scandal and the TDK Road debacle?

How many people had to know about the Sheriff's department and look the other way to make it possible ?

Fayette County Sheriff's dept is not one you want to mess with.

This isn't funny. Let the Feds handle it.

I have heard stories about this since I moved here 14yrs ago.

I also think these "stories" are part of what has kept us safe.

Cops are hired help to serve us per the law. We certainly shouldn't be afraid of them unless we are dangerous. Also it certainly doesn't mean they can do what they want.

Let the Feds handle it. They know what they are doing, we don't. This involves one guy. This is not and should not be a strike against the rest of the dept. They are very honest and hardworking people.

Later dopplerobserver.

Are we going to get rain or not? Try to come within 48hrs. of being correct.
