Look to the east for next TDK ExtensionTue, 09/05/2006 - 4:26pm

During World War II, the British had a battle cry, “Sink the Bismarck.” Peachtree City’s new battle cry should be, “Stop the TDK Extension at any cost.” While everybody worries about the impact of the new traffic coming from the planned massive development in East Coweta, on Ga. Highway 74, which should be six-laned by then anyhow, has anybody looked east? Let’s do so and connect the dots. TDK leads to Crosstown Road, Peachtree City Parkway, by extension to McIntosh Trail, to Cameron Trail, Robinson Road, Ebenezer Road, connecting with Ga. Highway 54 and Ebenezer Church Road with Redwine Road. We now have a perfect west to east bypass/short-cut from east Coweta to everything Fayetteville has to offer, including the current hospital “du Jour,” the Pavilion, etc., etc. Our residential feeder roads will now be ”Cross County Connectors.” The grand concept of Peachtree City, isolating and separating residential areas from high traffic arteries, will be effectively destroyed. Speed bumps will be too little too late. Start mounting pictures of “Once upon a time” in the public library. Once again, all in chorus: Stop the TDK Extension. Klaus Schoeffler |
