Look to the east for next TDK Extension

During World War II, the British had a battle cry, “Sink the Bismarck.” Peachtree City’s new battle cry should be, “Stop the TDK Extension at any cost.”

While everybody worries about the impact of the new traffic coming from the planned massive development in East Coweta, on Ga. Highway 74, which should be six-laned by then anyhow, has anybody looked east?

Let’s do so and connect the dots.

TDK leads to Crosstown Road, Peachtree City Parkway, by extension to McIntosh Trail, to Cameron Trail, Robinson Road, Ebenezer Road, connecting with Ga. Highway 54 and Ebenezer Church Road with Redwine Road.

We now have a perfect west to east bypass/short-cut from east Coweta to everything Fayetteville has to offer, including the current hospital “du Jour,” the Pavilion, etc., etc.

Our residential feeder roads will now be ”Cross County Connectors.” The grand concept of Peachtree City, isolating and separating residential areas from high traffic arteries, will be effectively destroyed.

Speed bumps will be too little too late. Start mounting pictures of “Once upon a time” in the public library.

Once again, all in chorus: Stop the TDK Extension.

Klaus Schoeffler
Peachtree City, Ga.

This letter wasn't written by Klaus Schoeffler; it was Steve Brown disguised as Klaus Schoeffler!!! Just ask Robert W. Morgan and Pandora before they take their medication.

All joking aside, there are several posts that make sense about what the future traffic patterns will be. The big daddy of them all will be GA 16. Lynn Westmoreland has been pushing hard on GA 16 - the more houses the merrier.

Westmoron is Republican. You haven't had enough yet? Tell me you didn't vote for Reed.

Hwy 16 probably does need some attention. No trucker wants to go up I-20 down I-285 to I-85 OR south I-75 (most anytime of the day), when he can go from Carrollton to Griffin on 16. That's called the Outer Loop on the Southside.

The Northside has a similar problem from I-75 at Cartersville over to I-85 @ Suwanee (all that carpet truck traffic). That's Hwy 20, they may call it Rayguns Parkway or something like that up there.
Been up to I-85 / 316, Discover Mall lately? DOT on the march.

Bladderq, I won't lie to you. Lynn Westmoreland is the lowest end product that the Republican Party sells. He hasn't done a darn thing in office, and he's darn proud of it. However, in a bold move, Westmoreland has reduced the number Commandments to five.

All of the political parties need to take out the trash now and again. Our party is just unwilling to put Westmoreland in the dust pan. I probably won't vote for Westmoreland out of protest.
