Tigers win crosstown rivalry with Chiefs

The game had no playoff implications, but that didn't dampen the spirits of either the Fayette County Tigers or the McIntosh Chiefs when they met Friday night. The stadium was packed and the crowd, coaches and players were energized. The game became rather one-sided rather quickly, though.

Panthers lose, Patriots edge out Eagles

As the season winds down for the county AAA teams, the stakes get higher. Starr's Mill traveled to Woodward Academy on Friday night to put their 7-1 record on the line. The Panthers knew they had a good shot at making the playoffs with only two games remaining in the season, but they never expected to come out so flat.

Teams give a good showing at state meet, War Eagles are state champs

The state cross country championships were held on Saturday in Carrollton. Some of the results were what you expected, Landmark Christian's boys won the Class A championship, while other results had some of our local teams falling short

Last race of the century held at AMS

When the Winston Cup series wraps up their season on Sunday, it will also be the last NASCAR race of the century. The sport has been exceedingly popular over the last few years, growing in fan attendance and average purse winnings. The 20th century has been good to NASCAR and the 21st century could be even better.

Escape to the South bike ride to be held this weekend

There will be a 50-mile Moderate/Strenuous ride on the lightly traveled roads of Fayette, Spalding and Pike Counties, including some of the Wilson and Pine Mt. Rides, on Saturday, Nov. 13

Tryouts for Bulls baseball this weekend

There will be tryouts this Saturday and Sunday for the Spring 2000 13 year old and 14 year old Bulls. The Bulls are county based Georgia Baseball Association traveling team
