Members of Heritage Christian Church will have a dedication ceremony and church picnic Sunday, Aug. 22, to celebrate the recent purchase of 77 acres on the corner of Redwine and Bernhard roads.

The congregation on June 13 voted overwhelmingly to purchase the land at a cost of $805,000. The purchase was made on Jun 28.

“God did nothing less than a miracle to make this property available to our church,” a spokesperson said. “Comparable properties in the area sell for at least twice as much.”

The dedication service is scheduled for 6 p.m. with a number of special guests planned. The church picnic will follow at 6:30 p.m.
