Tyrone's First Christian to offer Back to School seminar Aug. 21

The First Christian Church of Tyrone will sponsor a “Back to School Seminar for Parents” Saturday morning, Aug. 21 from 9-11 a.m. The seminar will focus on helping parents become better equipped to deal with the challenges of education.

Age-specific workshops led by qualified educators will be provided for parents of pre-kindergarten through elementary, middle school and high school students. The two workshops in each age group will focus on “Dealing With School in General,” led by school administrators who have knowledge of the overall picture of life in the schools, and “Dealing With Classroom Challenges,” led by teachers with appropriate experience in the various age groups.

Dr. Greg Moffatt, professor of psychology at Atlanta Christian College, will speak to the entire group in a wrap-up session on the topic “How Can I Help My child Do Well in School.”

The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast and end at 11 a.m.

There is no registration fee, but those planning to attend should call the church office at 770-969-7346 indicating their desire to attend or to request more information.

First Christian Church of Tyrone is located at 294 Jenkins Road in Tyrone.
