Racing continues at Senoia SpeedwayIn the Allen Vigil Ford Pro Late Model 40-lap feature, Romes Terry Crump recorded his first win at Senoia Speedway. Chris Hornsby jumped out front on the first lap with Crump in close pursuit.ÊOn lap three, Crump was able to slip past Horsby and never looked back. Crump would lead the remaining laps with an impressive charge to the front by Matt Hawkins to challenge Crump for the lead during the final laps of the event. Crump would maintain his lead, and take the win. In the Larry's New & Used Tire's 35-lap Modified Street Stock feature, a crash occurred on the front straight-away as the green flag waved. Steve Barker, who recorded the fastest qualifying lap earlier in the evening, made hard contact with the outside retaining wall just as the field passed beneath the flag stand. Barker was not injured in the incident, however his machine sustained heavy damage to the front end and was retired to the pits. When racing resumed, Sammy Short blasted out front followed by a charging Richard Blume. Short and Blume would maintain their respective positions the remainder of the event as Eddie Jones and Larry Pierce, Jr. for third place honors door-to-door.ÊPierce, Jr. would finally make the pass on the inside on lap 31 and maintain the position while Short took the win. In the Bandolero 15-lap feature, Vince Ponder took over the top spot on the first lap with a charging Bre Sharp in close pursuit. Joshua Crawley and Taylor Hull also challenged for the top two spots, while Ponder and Sharp refused to give up their positions. Ponder would go on to take the win. In the Legend Cars 25-lap feature, Scott Mosley served noticed that he was a force to contend with coming off his feature win last week. Mosley took over the top spot on the first lap with Casey Tate within inches of his back bumper. Mosley would lead the event from flag-to-flag with Chris Cable and Bubba Harry making an impressive charge to the front for the lead. Mosley would go on to take the win. In the Sportsman 30-lap feature, Trey White seems to enjoy the view of the speedway without the obstruction of race cars in front of his machine. White, who won his first career feature win last week, came back for a repeat performance this week; doing so in commanding style. White was chased across the start/finish line on lap 30 by Andy Cash, Jim Gresham, Mark Lore and Terry Medley rounding out the top five positions. In the Aaron's Pro Challenge 25-lap feature, Bobby Keys jumped out front in the early laps, followed by Ken Butler. On lap two, Terry Mathis, who started in the back of the field advanced into the third place position. Keys continued to show the way as Mathis made the pass for the second place position on lap eight. On lap 10, Mathis made the pass for the lead and never looked back. This weekends racing action will feature the Georgia Asphalt Series (GAS) 100-lap feature, as well as all the usual races. Visit www.senoiaspeedway.com or phone 770-599-6161 for more information.
