Glenn to speak on Medicare

Heritage of Peachtree Retirement & Assisted Living will host a free Medicare prescription drug law seminar April 23 at 2 p.m. to explain the impact of prescription drug provisions of the bipartisan agreement for Georgia Medicare beneficiaries.

The featured speaker will be Dylan Glenn, deputy chief of staff to Gov. Sonny Perdue and a candidate for the Eighth District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. A native Georgian, Glenn returned to his home state this year after serving two years as special assistant to President George W. Bush. While at the White House he was a member of the National Economic Council team advising the President on various economic concerns.

As one of the founders of The Earth Conservation Corps, an organization that provides opportunity to at-risk youth through serious invironmental conservation work, Glenn served on the board of directors of this organization including a stint as chairman of the board.

He has also served as organizer and director of the Black Salute to President George W. Bush; traveling press aide to Republican vice-presidential nominee Jack Kemp; special advisor to the Commission on Minority Business Development; and advisor to the Chairman of Republican National Conventions in 1992 and 1996. As his party’s nominee for Congress in the Second Congressional District in 2002, Glenn received the highest number of votes ever cast for a Republican in this southwest Georgia district.

Founder and director of the South Georgia Economic Development Corporation, formed to assist economic growth in the poorest part of his state, Glenn was involved with educational reform and was a major player in bringing innovative programs into several school systems in South Georgia. In October 1999, Georgia Trend magazine named him one of the 40 outstanding Georgians under 40.

Heritage of Peachtree is pleased to offer this special benefits update. The seminar is free and open to the public. Heritage of Peachtree is at 1967 Ga. Highway 54 in Fayetteville, next to Flat Creek Animal Clinic. For more information, call 770-631-3461.
