County seeks more control of Sheriff

The top two elected Fayette County officials met this week to hash out what has become an escalating war of control over money and property. No outcome was divulged after Sheriff Randall Johnson and County Commission Chairman Greg Dunn conferred with the county attorney at 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Tips for coping with rising gas prices

Prices for all grades of gasoline rose 1.34 cents in the last two weeks to a record high nationwide average of $1.77 a gallon, according to a study released Sunday. While they can’t lower prices, the specialists at Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge are trying to do their part by providing some tips to help save increase gas mileage.
