Clayton State Track Club schedules November meetings

Coming off its first sponsored race — the McElroy Mile Oct. 25 — the Clayton State Track Club will be meeting twice in the month of November to, among other things, discuss the race, as well as future events.

This month’s meetings will both be held in Clayton State’s Athletics & Fitness Center, with the evening meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, and the daytime meeting scheduled for noon Wednesday, Nov. 19. Both meetings are open to anyone interested in running (or walking) who wishes to attend.

In addition to rehashing The McElroy Mile, and discussing the race's future iterations, the meetings will also start planning for the construction of the McElroy Trail around the Clayton State campus, as well as future events, including the Jan. 20, 2004 Freedom Run 5K, which will be held on the Clayton State campus.

Membership in the CSTC is $20 a year for individuals, with family members costing an additional $10 each. All charter members will receive a special CSTC T-Shirt with a logo designed by Lauren Baker of the Clayton State Office of University Relations. Applications for the CSTC are available through the Clayton State Track and Field Office or the Clayton State Office of University Relations.
