Football season ends for most teams

Two local teams, Sandy Creek and Landmark Christian School, will be moving on into the postseason, when it starts Nov. 21. For the rest of the local teams, the season is over. Landmark has one more regular season game to play this Friday, while Sandy Creek gets a bye week after running the table in the regular season.

In last Friday’s action, Sandy Creek (10-0) defeated Pebblebrook, 34-6, while Landmark (8-1) beat Our Lady of Mercy (2-8), 48-12. Landmark will travel to take on Mt. Zion, Carroll this Friday night to close out their regular season. The War Eagles have already captured their second consecutive region championship. Starr’s Mill (4-6) won the Battle of the Rock for the second consecutive year, beating Fayette County (1-9) 21-3.
