Peachtree City Junior Golf Championship set for Oct. 18

The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department will be offering its first-ever Peachtree City Junior Golf Championship Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Flat Creek Golf Club. Tee times will begin at noon.

The tournament is open to any Junior Golfers ages 9-18. There are eight divisions — four for boys and four for girls Divisions. Girls have the option of competing in the boys division.

Boys and girls aged 9-11 will compete in 9-hole stroke play for $15. Older golfers will compete in 18-hole stroke play for $25. Out-of-county competitors add $5.

Trophies will be awarded.

Nine-year-olds may compete if average 9-hole score is 55 or less. PGA professional of home course must verify eligibility. Age is determined by date of event. Eighteen-year-olds must be in high school.

Girls division must have a minimum of five participants in each age group to compete separately, otherwise boys and girls will compete together. No caddies are permitted. Space is limited. USGA rules govern all play. Local rules may apply.
