Full night of action at Senoia Speedway

In the Allan Vigil Ford Pro Late Model 50-lap feature last Saturday night at Senoia Speedway, Rusty Clanton recorded the fastest qualifying lap, then rolled a two on the dice, placing him in the second starting position on the outside of the front row. That advanced Frankie Farmer into the pole position for the start of the feature.

When the green flag waved, Farmer jumped out to an early lead with Clanton close behind. Farmer would continue to lead the event until lap 7, when Clanton made the pass for the lead, choosing to take the high grove of the speedway, and completing the pass on the outside of Farmer's machine. Clanton would continue to lead the remainder of the event, with Farmer, Ron Johnson, Wayne Hansard and Joe Click completing the top five positions respectively.

The Aaron's Pro Challenge 20-lap feature drew considerable attention from Senoia Speedway fans when Brian Sharp passed leader Terry Mathis on lap 7 and never looked back. Mathis, who started the event from the pole position and has recorded 10 consecutive wins, making him undefeated for the season, started the race from the pole position.

When the green flag waved, Mathis established himself as the early leader, with Sharp, who started the event along side Mathis on the outside pole, close on Mathis' back bumper. On laps 5 through 7, the two driver's battled door-to-door, with Sharp finally completing the pass for the lead on lap 7. With Sharp in the lead, Mathis continued to hold on to the second place position, with Brett McLain, Frankie Roberts, and Ken Butler completing the top five finishing positions.

Nick Hill took top honors in the Legends Pro 20-lap feature, having started the event from the pole position. Hill led the event flag-to-flag. The machines of Bubba Pollard and Cindy Anderson, having battled door-to-door from lap 8 through 11, made hard contact on the back straight-away, which resulted in considerable damage to both machines.

The speedway medical team was quick to respond to check the two drivers, who reported that they were uninjured in the mishap. Anderson, however, later reported that she had injured her left arm and left foot, and was treated at the speedway by the medical team and released.

Anderson, who is the current points leader in this division, was in good spirits later in the evening as she talked with her fans and speedway officials and referred to the incident as, "Simply a racing accident ... it's going to happen and it's no one's fault!"

Tony Yawn, Jr., Ted Studly, went on to finish the event in the second and third place positions respectively, with Pollard and Anderson taking the fourth and fifth place positions.

In the Legends Semi Pro 20-lap feature, Doc Lee and Bubba Harry continue to battle door-to-door for the lead, swapping the top spot back and forth lap-after-lap, with Lee finally taking the win. Casey Tate, Aaron Brooks and Phillip Bell finished in the top five respectively.

Jonathan Chandler took top honors in the OPTECH Bandolero 15-lap feature, having had a heated battle with Kyle Mitchell for the lead in the opening laps. Jody Pilkenton, Trey Maughan, Mike Conrad and Chase Moody completed the top five positions.

Steve Payton returned to Senoia Speedway for the first time this season and took top honors in the Sportsman 25-lap feature. Rod Williford, Andy Cash, Norman Layton and Paul Benefield completed the top five positions.

Sammy Short took the win in the Modified Street Stock feature and Mike Chambers took the Modified Mini Stock event.
