Seminoles win state titles

The 10-under Georgia Seminoles, playing out of Tyrone Baseball Association and Peachtree City Georgia Baseball Association, have won two state championships this season.

The Seminoles traveled to Roswell in June to participate in the NBC State Tournament, where they went 5-0 to win the championship. In this tournament the Seminoles hit an amazing .615 as a team and scored a total of 87 runs while allowing only 9 runs scored.

With the Georgia NBC State Championship, the Seminoles will now advance to the NBC World Series the week of July 28 at Hembree Park in Roswell.

The Seminoles also played last month in the USSSA State Tournament, held at East Cobb. Twenty one of the top 10-under teams in Georgia participated in this tournament. The Seminoles beat the Wills Park Angels in the championship game by a score of 6-2 to win their second state title in two weeks.

Finishing the tournament with a 7-0 record, they hit .415 as a team against some of the best 10-under pitchers in the state. The Seminoles recorded 63 runs while allowing only 22 for the tournament.

For the season the Seminoles have won seven tournaments and have played in places like Southaven, Miss., and Knoxville, Tenn. Their overall record against other 10-year-old teams now stands at 52-6-1. Currently the Seminoles are top-ranked 10-under team in the country according to USA Sports Rankings.com.

Last year, as a 9-year-old team, the Seminoles placed second in the USSSA Major World series in Sulfur, La. This year the Seminoles are on a quest to win the USSSA World Series and will be traveling to Henderson, Nev., the week of July 13 in hopes of reaching their goal.
