Local company helps with Perdue fitness challenge

Recently, Governor Sonny Perdue made a public announcement to become healthier. He began the "Governor's Challenge: Fitness on My Mind," also referred to as the "Capitol Challenge."

The Governor challenged state employees to join him. There are 1,800 state employees who participated in the challenge with the governor.

Karla Grady and Ruthann Clark are co-owners of Peachtree Fitness Professionals, a local health promotion company, and contributed to Perdue's program to educate and motivate participants in their efforts.

Perdue joked, "By making my efforts public, how's that for accountability?" The Clarks agreed that an incentive to following through with any fitness challenge is to state your goal to your family and friends. In the case of Perdue, 1,800 state employees will be watching his efforts and cheering him on in his success.

Peachtree Fitness Professional specializes in health promotion presentations, corporate wellness programming, lifestyle & weight management counseling and one-on-one personal training.

Both Karla and Ruthann are certified by the American Council on Exercise and conduct their programs locally and throughout the State of Georgia. Peachtree Fitness Professionals can be contacted via phone at 770-486-9100 or via e-mail at karlapfp@bellsouth.net and rclarkpfp@bellsouth.net.
