World Airways gets federal loan guarantee

World Airways, Inc., announced last week the Air Transportation Stabilization Board has granted the company conditional approval for a $27 million federal loan guarantee. The guaranteed amount represents 90 percent of a new commercial loan facility.

Bank earnings announced

Georgia Bancshares, Inc., the parent company of The Bank of Georgia, announced net income for the first quarter of 2003 of $272,619, or $.12 per share. Same-quarter earnings for 2002 were $97,322, or $.05 per share.
