Murder suspect gets bond, but can't drive

Paul Samuel Gardner Jr. of Sharpsburg, accused of killing a Fayetteville woman by "tapping" his brakes and causing her to lose control of her car, was granted a $60,000 bond Thursday by Fayette County Superior Court Judge Paschal A. English Jr.

Fayette Community Hospital to hold blood drive

Fayette Community Hospital Auxiliary and the American Red Cross will host a Blood Drive Thursday, June 12, from noon-5 p.m. in the Community Room at Fayette Community Hospital. Every two seconds, someone in America needs blood. Every day, 34,000 donations are needed in the United States to help save the lives of cancer patients, accident victims, and children with blood disorders, among others. One pint of blood can help save as many as three lives.

TC agrees to pay the tab to get TDK back on track

The Peachtree City Council voted Thursday to dip into contingency funds to come up with the extra $18,650 it needs to get the engineering portion of the TDK Boulevard Extension going again.

His name was ... actually, I'm not at liberty to tell you his name. I will tell you, however, that he died last week. In the hospital medical intensive care unit that had become his home. He had been moved back and forth between the medical and surgical units since December of last year.
