Starr's Mill team wins rec volleyball title

The Starr's Mill High School recreational volleyball team defeated Sandy Creek May 22 to be named Champions of the 2003 Ladies Volleyball League. The Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department hosts the Ladies Volleyball League each spring for ladies ages 15 and up.

Although not officially linked to any school, most teams are named after the school their players attend. Many league participants have previously played for the varsity, JV or ninth-grade team at their respective high schools.

Members of the championship team include Karen Baaklini, Kacie Black, Jennifer Davis, Stephanie Dazey, Lauren Dillon, Kelly Elder, Alexis Gregg, Camille Jubb, Kirsten Massman, Laura Miller, Sarah Reed, and Joanna Tolsma.
