Fayette has warning system: NWS radio

Reference your headline to Paul Van't Hof's letter in your May 21 edition, "Fayette lacks weather warning."

I find your chosen headline misleading. Fayette does have a weather warning system. Several years ago I purchased a weather radio with the SAME (Specific Area Message Encoding) technology. These radios allow users to receive warning only for their specific area.

I program mine to alert me to both Fayette and Coweta warnings. Radios like mine may be purchased at Radio Shack, www.weatherradiostore.com or many other outlets.

Our county should not spend more money on sirens, but should promote the use of the SAME radios. This is the "county-wide weather warning system" the writer asks for.
