Moms, you're the
greatest
I have had an incredibly full schedule over the last one and a half years. There have been regional government meetings, council meetings, ceremonies, tournaments, charity events, etc., and I have enjoyed them all. However, the one thing that I have noticed loud and clear is the power of motherhood in our community. Time and time again, you will find our local moms involved in every one of the positive aspects of our lives. It has been my privilege to view our mothers chasing after triplets, mothers lifting up their children with disabilities, mothers leading scout groups, mothers cheering for their little leaguers, mothers helping in the schools, mothers worshipping, mothers raising funds for charity, mothers playing with their children, mothers carpooling, mothers kissing boo-boos, mothers cooking, mothers working and so much more. I have also had to extend the sorrow of our community to a mother who lost her faithful son who was hit and instantly killed by a fleeing criminal in a high-speed chase from the law. I have had to express our sadness to several mothers who lost their young children to the ravages of cancer and other diseases. I have watched mothers in painful agony as their teenagers are sentenced in our courts, knowing that each mother would give up years of her life to see her children avoid getting into trouble. It is always exciting to watch our grandmothers playing with their grandchildren on our local tot lots. Grandmothers have what seems to be infinite patience and they continually appear very interested in the rocks, sticks and bugs that little boys pull out of their pockets. Our grandmothers always have an easy time finding the virtuous and pleasant qualities of children. All my love and respect goes out to our extraordinary mothers and grandmothers in our community. Your loving actions are often overlooked, but please know that you are the most beautiful women on this earth and that we can not carry on without you. Steve Brown Mayor Peachtree City
