High school sports briefs The Starr's Mill Lady Panthers soccer team, ranked fifth in the state and seeded second in Region 4-AAAAA, closed out region play with a 7-0 win over Fayette County last Thursday. Shelley Wegrzyn scored three goals, all in the first half, and Tannah Castro added two goals in the second half. Lindsey Anderson and Beth Meadors also scored. Landmark Christian's boys soccer team reached the A/AA Area 4 finals, falling 2-1 to the Walker School in the title game. Both squads will compete in the state playoffs. Landmark beat Grady 3-1 in the semifinals behind goals by Eric Worrell, Jordan Calleiro and Joseph Keywood. Bobby Green of Sandy Creek, an offensive lineman, has signed with Cumberland College in Kentucky to play college football this fall. The official opening and dedication of Landmark Christian School's new baseball field has been postponed until Tuesday, May 6. A doubleheader is scheduled for that day and the dedication will be between games approximately 4:30-5 p.m.
