PTC Skatepark To Open for BMX Bikes

Starting May 5, the Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department will begin to make its skatepark available for use by BMX bikers.

High school sports briefs

The Starr's Mill Lady Panthers soccer team, ranked fifth in the state and seeded second in Region 4-AAAAA, closed out region play with a 7-0 win over Fayette County last Thursday. Shelley Wegrzyn scored three goals, all in the first half, and Tannah Castro added two goals in the second half. Lindsey Anderson and Beth Meadors also scored.

Community sports briefs

The Peachtree City Running Club's annual Peachtree City Kids' Fun Run is Saturday, May 3, at 9 a.m. at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater. There is no entry fee and the one-mile event is open to all kids ages 5-12. Awards will be given to first-place finishers in each age group and gender.
