Fayette Ballet, a local dance company made up of junior and senior company members, teacher and guest artists, will bring the "Celebration of Spring" show to the stage at Our Lady of Mercy High School this Sunday.

The show will feature a mixture of dances to both classical and modern music. Headlining the program will be two selections by Tchaikovsky. Fayette Ballet associate director Patrick Turner choreographed "Pas de Quatre" from "Swan Lake," while company choreographer Rommie Stalnaker has choreographed "The Six Fairy Variations" from "Sleeping Beauty." Turner also choreographed a jazz piece set to Madonna's "Die Another Day," for company dancers and apprentices. The Junior Company dancers will appear in "Pippin" staged by choreographer Annette Tomasi.

In more modern musical selections, Guest Artist Michael Lee choreographed the number "Tuned," which is set to the music of Moodswings. The piece, which blends ballet with jazz, first appeared in the Saenger Theatre in Pensacola in 1995 and will be performed on Sunday by Senior Company and apprentice dancers. Michael Lee also choreographed the number "Sculpture Garden," which is set to the music of Vangelis.

Dr. Rosa Adamcyzk, who played Frau Silberhaus in last year's production of "The Nutcracker," choreographed and designed the costumes for "Circles." She will join company dancers in the number, which is set to the music of Sasha.

Faculty members Meredith Hesse and Nicole Schmitt will join Tomasi, Stalnaker and Turner as soloists in the program.
