On Aug. 7, 2002, The Citizen published my letter to the editor concerning the candidacy of Mr. Mike Wheat for election to the Fayette County Board of Commissioners.

This letter was intended solely as a political statement in opposition to the candidacy of Mr. Wheat because of what I perceive as questionable behavior on his part during the time he was mayor of Fayetteville.

Specifically, I did not intend to accuse Mr. Dan Davis or Integrated Science and Engineering, Inc., of engaging in any ethical or financial improprieties. Nor did I have the intention of impugning the reputation of Mr. Davis or Integrated Science and Engineering, Inc. in any manner.
