Anybody considered a golf course for center of county? Thanks for your heads-up article. I have been watching the area between Fayetteville and Peachtree City, "the last 2000 acres," with a great deal of interest and apprehension as the families fade away. Two of Fayette County's prettiest farms lie in this area, one on the north side of Ga. Highway 54 opposite the uninspiring new postal facility, and the other along the western side of Sandy Creek Road as it heads north from Hwy 54. Has it occurred to anyone that the rolling nature of the terrain and the beauty of the area would lend itself to making a stunning golf course? I would rather have the farms, but since it's inevitable that the area will "develop," I could sure find this easier to look at than a glut of big, close-together houses imposing their burden on the school system and roads, or yet another medical complex. (Ever notice the morning mist rising from the Wendell Coffee Golf Center on Ga. Highway 74 north, leaving Fayette County? It's not as good as a farm, but it comes close in beauty.) Just a thought, in case a developer has not considered it. It could only help the county to have an oasis of green still in place. I hope we will not end up looking like Coweta County's Ga. Highway 34. Keep following this story. C. C. Rogers Unincorporated Fayette
