House
passes child custody, anti-gun-suits bills
By MAC
COLLINS
Congressman
Child
Custody Protection Act
On Thursday, the
Child Custody Protection Act (H.R. 1755) was introduced for consideration
in the House of Representatives. I was proud to offer my support as
an original cosponsor of this legislation which would protect the
rights of parents under state parental notification and consent laws.

LETTERS TO THE
EDITOR
Delta,
I'm ready when you are to be new CEO
I want to take this
opportunity to thank the Delta Airlines Board of Directors for helping
me finally find out just what I want to be when I grow up. I want to
be a Delta CEO. I am ashamed to admit that it has taken me 52 years
to discover this, but as they say, better late than never.
Owners
have right to sell mid-Fayette pastures
I can emphasize
with Cal's desire not to see the beautiful vista between Fayetteville
and Peachtree City disappear [The Citizen, April 9]. However, the rights
of the owners of that 2,000 acres must be respected.
Column
was wrong about Rep. Westmoreland, PAC
Your editorial column
last week certainly covered many topics, possibly too many to include
all the facts. I will provide some facts I hope you are able to publish.
Representative and Minority Leader Lynn Westmoreland has not taken over
Peachtree City.
PTC
needs another PAC
I suppose there
is no choice now but to start an incumbent PAC to fend off our state
politicians from having the advantage in Peachtree City politics.
PAC
members not dedicated to reversing last PTC election
Many dedicated citizens
of Peachtree City worked hard to come up with a meaningful name and
a comprehensive mission statement. Neither was reported in your paper,
although both were distributed to the media and members of City Council
and explained at the April 5 City Council meeting.
F'ville
rally outstanding example of 'right stuff'
The rally that took
place last Friday evening in Fayetteville was one of the grandest events
to take place here in a long while. I did not count the number in attendance,
but it was a great crowd. Even the rain could not dampen the spirit
of the people there.

PTC
must tighten regs to ban irresponsible teens
I was disappointed
but not surprised to read in the Atlanta newspaper about the irresponsible
teens in Peachtree City who were destroying the grass on our playgrounds
with their parents' golf carts. I was less than thrilled to see it on
the noon news that day. Finally, days later, I saw it mentioned in today's
The Citizen.
CNN
kowtows to and slants news for dictators
In an April 11 revelation
on the New York Times editorial page, Eason Jordan, CNN chief news executive,
revealed that CNN had kept its Baghdad bureau open, even after some
of their Iraqi employees had been arrested and tortured and the information
minister had threatened to assassinate reporters if they went to Northern
Iraq.
Whatever
seniors have done, here's what they didn't do
I received this
from a friend and felt the need to share it:
