PAC members not dedicated to reversing last PTC election

Many dedicated citizens of Peachtree City worked hard to come up with a meaningful name and a comprehensive mission statement. Neither was reported in your paper, although both were distributed to the media and members of City Council and explained at the April 5 City Council meeting.

[As to] Lynn Westmoreland's recent involvement with the development authority legislation, you wrote, "Maybe he was persuaded by the Outs' new political action committee, which is dedicated to reversing the results of last year's city election." Maybe "Outs" refers to a political action committee of which I am not aware, at least, I hope you were not referring to DIRECT PAC in this derogatory manner. However, if so, I must respond to your comment.

The term "Outs" implies out of power politicians. None of the 10 individuals in the leadership group of DIRECT PAC has ever held or even run for elected office in Peachtree City. Finally, we are dedicated to many things, all described in our mission statement which I have attached. Reversing the results of the last election is not something our group intends to pursue.

In our presentation to City Council we stated and you did not report [that] we will help Peachtree City confront and solve future problems and challenges. We may be supportive or critical of your decisions or proposals, but we are a valuable resource and hope that you recognize that. Like you, we are committed to the future of Peachtree City.

In the future, please feel free to ask us what our positions or intentions may be before you report them as facts.

Robin Lorber

Information Committee Chair

DIRECT PAC
